Music in Lucid Dreams: The Creative Subconscious
My subconscious has composed entire symphonies in audio HI, so I really want to try playing music in an LD when I get a chance.
I think I'll play Moonlight Sonata... Yeah, adding that to the "To do" list.
I definitely want to try an instrument in a LD. I'll summon John Lennon and play Norwegian Wood along with him. Now THAT would be pretty damn awesome.
I think we're missing the real possibilities here. I play the drums. Now imagine what I could do if I had 4 arms instead of 2? 4 legs? Natural sounding music impossible in RL being played by YOU.
That being said, you could compose symphonies with ease (probably). Just wave a stick, and think up some music. You could make up new instruments. Tons of stuff. Remember, be creative...
Your right shiraniaori. Thankfully we have synthesizers, sequencers, and all kinds of digital software that can allow us to have 4 arms for drums among other things.
I had a musical lucid dream once, only audio, no visual. I made some sweet music, all using the power of my mind, i remember the brass...and me changing the hi-hats intentionally.
I've been really REALLY into my music lately, and i mean a lot. I have been practicing on my keyboard all day for like the last 3 or 4 days and now i remember me even playing the keyboard in dreams. That may be a potential dream sign.
Subconscious = gateway to unlimited creativity
Shira... octodrumming sounds like the most metal thing I have ever heard of. Forget double bass, you need to usher in the new era of quadruple bass.
Oh my god. I just realized you could literally melt people's faces off with music in a lucid dream. It is no longer a clever idiom (or whatever type of descriptive language that phrase is) but a face melting reality.
Exactly. But while were at it, why not see the music your playing? It'd prolly be easier if you have any history with synaesthesia, but it's possible otherwise. I've always wanted to see my drumming. See the soundwaves of different colors leave the instrument and fill the room. It would give your music a "feel" to it you couldn't reproduce.
And don't worry, I will octodrum the shit out of the new era. Anyone else up to it? Three or four handed piano? Imagine the poly rhythms of a guitar when you have three hands? The possibilities...
now if you had FOUR hands, and a double neck guitar, that would be the shit!
When I play an instrument in a dream that I have played in real life my skills are increased 1000x coming up with things I could never even imagine. So you should give it a go the next time your dreaming. The hard part is remembering what you played and applying it to the awake life.
I've actually never had that thought. Next time I LD (if ever :(), I'll definitely try it! :D
When I tried that in a lucid, I sucked as much as in waking! Really, don't know how others can be good at it while dreaming <.<
