My friend. Fail.

My friend first off, stumbled on lucid dreaming and got freaked out about AP, OBEs, and SP, but i told her about that stuff and what not, but then I told her she should learn about it and she says, "No I don't want to really learn how to do it. I think dreaming is more about going into your subconscious and not about fun and I don't want to do this."
What would be the best way to explain to her that it still is way about your subconscious and even more so then a regular dream, and how do I persuade her to learn?

Some people just will never be interested in lucid dreaming. And some people get their start by having an "accidental" lucid, then looking up to see if they can purposefully induce one.

I'd ask her to tell you what she's seeing and noticing around the room in that very moment. Then, I'd relate that to a dream by saying something along the lines of, "it's exactly like that, but some things can be warped and others simply bizarre-looking. You're all there mentally but in a total fantasy environment created by your mind. You can go anywhere you want just by thinking of it.".

Then explain to her the more "fictional" parts of lucid dreaming, such as how fun it is to fly and do all sorts of lucid stuff. Tell her she can be invincible, that she can jump really far, and the likes.

If she doesn't think lucid dreams can be realistic, dare her to have a lucid and then to touch something with texture, such as brick or something sharp.

my friend was like taht but then he accidentally had a LD and ever since then hes been obsessed with it, get them to watch inception then they might have a LD

Some people won't be convinced and it would be wrong to force your beliefs in lucid dreaming onto them if they adamantly don't want you to. If you can turn them around, that'd be cool, but keep in mind that it's really their business you're getting into.

I've got to agree with Clyde here. I think that, just like any other interest, if someone truly isn't interested in something you like, and have resisted attempts of yours to convert them then sometimes it is best to just leave it be. As much as you want them to enjoy what you enjoy you don't want to be overbearing. For example, no matter how many times missionaries come to my door, I will never become a Mormon. No matter how great they say it is, it just isn't for me.

Just my 2 cents..take it how you will.

Based on what she said, I'd suggest you point out that lucid dreaming doesn't have to be used just for fun. It can be a great tool for exploring one's subconscious, if that's what you're into.

On the other hand, I (along with most other people on this forum) have found that the majority of people simply aren't interested in lucid dreaming. It may be best to just accept that and let it go. It's just like any other hobby: just because you love golf doesn't mean that all your friends also have to love it.
