YO DAWG WE PUT A DREAM INSIDE YO DREAM SO YOU CAN DREAM WHILE YOU DREAM - Xzibit

Yesterday, I had a dream. During that dream, I fell asleep. I dreamed while I was asleep. Then I woke up in the morning of the first dream and continued it. It was similar to Inception, how even while they were in deeper levels of dreaming, the other levels continued.

Has this happened to anybody else?

I have never once had that happen to me... or anyone I know for that matter. Maybe some sort of false awakening x2?

No, it was clearly a dream... It wasn't my life, it was someone else's. Not gonna go into specifics on the content of the dream though. However, it WAS the most complex dream I've ever had. And the most vivid. I could actually feel things, which is a step up from my lucids.

I've done this, actually. I dreamed that I woke up in my bed. I did a reality check to make sure I was actually dreaming, and I was. Even though I was dreaming, I still felt tired for some reason. So I decided all I wanted to do was lay down and rest. I fell asleep in my dream, waking up to another lucid dream.

It's wierd. Also my first LD might qualify as 2. I had an LD, went holy shit after reality checking, woke up, and then fell asleep and was still lucid. It's kind of similar in a wierd way.

You're not really asleep inside a dream, that is to say during the inner dream the other isn't still going on elsewhere, it's all one dream. Look up the term false awakening.

falling asleep in dreams is awesome! Good job doing that. I highly recommend it.

Also, closing your eyes and meditating in a dream is really weird!

      what is this about Xzibit?

      fix'd

EDIT: Oh, and Xzibit would always go on in Pimp My Ride, "YO DAWG WE HEARD YOU LIKE X SO WE PUT AN X IN YOUR Y SO YOU CAN X WHILE YOU Y!" ...it was a reference to that.

And also this wasn't a false awakening I don't think, because false awakenings are supposed to be your life, whereas this was like, I went to sleep in the dream, dreamt, and then woke up in the dream and continued it from waking up in my dream house and doing more stuff. But it was the same storyline... Like the next act in the play.

A false awakening just means you wake up, but are still in the dream. It has nothing to do with whether you are lucid or not, if the setting is real or not.... nothing like that. Fell asleep in a dream, and then had a false awakening. I have fallen asleep in dreams many times, and awoken back into the first dream.

Try falling asleep twice in a row.

I've had this happen to me before, and it blew my mind.

One that I can think of, is when I was dreaming that I was drunk, after a party, and found a mattress in an alley way, and fell asleep. During that sleep, I had a Spider-Man related dream. Then, I woke up from that dream, and I was right back on the mattress, in the alley way, from the 'previous' dream.

No, I don't think you're going down into any deeper "levels" of the dream state. I believe you're just having one, continuous dream, which creates the illusion of going to sleep and waking up (just like dreams create all other illusions of doing things you're not really doing). But, yes, it can feel incredibly real.

Yep. I've had an FA experience like that. I thought it was pretty cool.

Anything can happen when the mind is emotionally involved. It's no surprise that the presence of Inception would result in such dreams springing up.

YEAH DAWG! last night i had a non lucid dream where i was showing my family shared lucid dreaming. we all went to sleep and in my non lucid dream i woke up in a (non lucid) lucid dream and was explaining to my family about the dream world. NEVER WENT LUCID. even though i knew i was in a lucid dream and trying to teleport i didn't ever get consciousness.
Nothing is difficult in a dream, its all in your head.
