I guess it is possible, but I highly doubt they were "perfectly healthy" if they had refused to sleep and were previously tortured. |

How often can a real death occur when someone is dreaming? I read this article about these 2 perfectly healthy Asian men dying after they went to sleep. So here's what happened. Apparently, these guys were victims of torture or something in Korea so they refused to sleep. Then one night they do sleep, they die. I heard this is how the idea of Freddy Kruger was created and obviously he isn't real but real life death from sleeping is? |

If a person goes so long without sleep, they will die, even if they fall asleep after passing the threshold. Dying in a dream does not equate to dying in real life. Nightmares can't kill you unless you have an extremely dodgy heart, or are a heavy somnambulist and somehow manage to kill yourself via walking off a cliff, stabbing yourself with a knife, etc. |

Mario92 that is really scary. |

Sleep deprivation is a recognized form of torture. Willingly staying up long enough to kill yourself is quite nearly impossible. The body has enough built-in functions to avoid that sort of thing, including micro-naps that last only a second or two but keep death at bay. I'd really be surprised if the soldiers from the myth willingly killed themselves via sleep dep. |

Ya dieng in your dreams causing you to die in real life is just a myth. I don't know why so many people belive in that. |

No not dying in your dreams. Dying irl from having nightmares. The 2 guys were having nightmares from their time and they died when they slept. |

I guess if you have heart problems and are like extremely scared/excited then sure - you might have a Rl heart attack - though this is not just in dreams. |
