How does the amount of sleep one gets affect their dreams or lucids? Does it vary from person to person?

I usually sleep 5-6 hours. If I sleep for 7hours or more I am feeling bad when I wake up, having overslept.

Still, I have the most amazing dreams (well compared to other people I know, duh, but saying it in a forum full of LD'ers that may sound bad) and I have had lucid dreams ever since I remember myself. My sleep has probably always been of good quality.

So, what do the experts say on the matter? Should I leave things as they are or try to change my patterns?

Also, could it be that the reason I have never had nightmares is that I don't sleep much? So the mind repels bad dreams since it needs the precious dream time?
