if you could lucid dream permanently instead of living out your life AWAKE half of the time would you?
In actuality, my life isn't that exciting, & I am picked on for being the weirdo at school. At least in them, it provides a little safety!Quote:

There have actually been alot of Polls/posts about this already. Try doing a search of the forum if you are interested. ;)
Personally...I'd do the Tom Cruise thing and jump off the building.
I would have gladly pushed Tom Cruise off of a building.
oh maybe i should have done a search first!? EH
just BACK OFF alright!
wow...I KNOW you aren't talking to me. I was totally just suggesting that you might try doing a search to help you get more answers if people don't post alot of answers to your poll it's because they've already done it like ten times. You really need to chill out. I didn't say ANYTHING that warranted a response like that. Sheesh. :roll:Quote:

It's okay, once there are four or five pages of an old topic no one bothers to read through it anyway.
Oh yeah, and...
How about I live out my life until i'm about 60, then go into a permanent lucid dream? (with the body I have right now, of course) That sounds about fair, right?
Yeah but I mean...I was just trying to be helpful by suggesting that. I even answered the freaking question even though I've answered it 3 times before :? people are so touchy. everyone lighten up
And hell yeah I would be all for that!!! I don't want to get OLD. :undecided:Quote:

Well I have to disagree with the majority of the voters and say life. In a lucid dream I can wish it and it shall be so. In life I find it exciting to know that I have to work at it. When ever you cheat in at a game it ussally detracts from it. Also there is no danger in my dreams. If I die I can just respawn or resurect myself or what ever. You can't do that in life. You can spend life times in your dreams but you only get one real life.
i was jus joking without fake enthusiasum what fun is life sheeshQuote:

..i am sorry i think what i meant to say was thanks
Would you know that you're dreaming? It might as well as be your real life if you never woke up.
EDIT: But then again, considering all of the times I have become lucid and then faded back into a normal dream shortly after; I don't know.Quote:

Why choose life when you could choose Heroin, err, I mean lucid dreaming.
I've never had a LD yet.... buuut I'm gonna take a leap of faith on this one and say Lucid! :D
I value my life too much. I love the people I live with. I could not stand to know that everything is created off of my imagination and I am not in a reality with other people who can dream. I would kill myself over and over and go crazy if I was permanently in a dream. I want and even need other contact other than what my conciousness sets up for me. I just want individuality and knowing that some other concious other than my own would spend their life with me. That is what makes life special to me. It is because I know that others care.
"merely merely merely merely"
It's a very hard choise, actually. But even if a lucid dream is incredibly realistic, I'll always know deep down that it's not the real thing, and I'll ultimately miss out a lot of new experiences in life, not to mention dissapoint everyone who counts on me (who I suspect ain't many :P). LD's limit you to what your mind can concieve, while reality constantly provides you with fresh experiences and challenges. But I WOULD like to be capable of LDing at will. I would've made approximately half of my dreams lucid. Maybe even only a third. It's bound to become a lot less interesting after awhile, and I won't want to spoil myself the fun by "overusing" it.
So, around 1/6 to 1/9 of my life would be optimally spent LDing (seeing as about 1/3 is spent in sleeping).
This may all be a little deep but
have has anyone ever considered that LD's are the place where we are supposed to exist not here !
in your mind you can conceive the possibility of infinity and understand it
in life can you ?
so when you travel through space and get to the end of the stars whats after them :?
so when you get to the end of time whats after it :?
in your mind time and space have no relevance, maybe when we all die this is where we all end up and we spend our time trying to enter the RW (real world) not the LD a ?
if no one asks the question there not need be an answer
LOl who knows and who cares a

Lucid Dreaming is Real Life
Being Lucid for a lifetime would be stupid, being able to do as you please, makes what you do less fun. What about the things you earn in life? lucid could never replace life for me, and my life isn't even all that great :-P
what makes you think that life is so real compared to a dream another concious individual person doesn't make life exciting. i think it's what can happen that can make you realize how fragile and delicut ones life is and that is only because none of us have died or seen if there is or isn't anything beyond what our lifes provide which makes us fear or not know what is after death if there is anything.
I dont think anyone can correctly answer this question unless they have spent a vast amount of time in a lucid dream and ended it somehow or lived your life as much as you could and died. But then it would still be your own damn opinion.
Maybe life is just a place where we get the raw materials we need for our imagination to do it's work in the lucid dreaming reality.
