Extremly strange state of dreaming

This happened to me a few months back.Just remembered it

I was having a odd dream one morning and i woke up for school(In real life,Because I usually wake up between 7:15-7:45 naturally). So i woke up.And i was rested so i wasn't still half a sleep. I was quite aware of what was happening. I had awoken just before i was about to find out something i wanted to find out in the dream(such as a conclusion). Now being awake within the next few seconds i realized that i didn't see the ending of my dream.So,now standing i closed my eyes and layed back down and the dream continued and i knew i was awake. I knew i was forcing my eyes shut and that i was trying to finish the dream.Then the dream ended and i continued on to take a shower..

Keep in mind that i finished the dream awake.
If anything was unclear in that post i'll be happy to reexplain :-)

You were just continuing from thought. You were creating your own ending. That is if you really were awake.

I wish I could get up at 7:15.

Yeah, I've done that too before.
But the dream is more of a daydream, and isn't nearly as engrossing or vivid as the real dream.

It's just your imaginative streak finishing it off for you as a daydream ;)
(Unless you were actually asleep and didn't realise it?)

Mm, i've experienced this a few times too. I guess it's basically day-dreams serving a role as attachment-to-sleepdreams, which seems understandable enough. I agree with the abovementioned lacking envelopment. This experience involves more depth than normal daydreaming, but i don't think it's a genuine extension of the sleeping dream - i.e it is a waking, conscious conclusion. But either way, it can be satisfying, so i'm all for it.
