      binaural beats

Where can I find them fro free?
Dripping time into a seed that grows into the world and sprouts a fruit that ripens into humans. They stretch up into the sky looking for purpose, wandering when and if their time has come. Lol!

I stumbled on this thread searching 'binaural'. Hope you don't mind if I ask this in parallel with looking at what's already been said in the forums.
Are you saying 'they' don't work as in the free ones on youtube, or all binaural beats?

I have tried listening to two apps (Brain Wave and BrainHack) at theta frequencies to induce LD's with no success.
I have had several LD's over the past 2 years but, honestly, I attribute them more to random chance than anything I've done.

Anyone care to comment on their success or lack thereof with binaural beats?

Search "binaural beats" on Youtube, and use a youtube converter like benderconverter or mediaconverter (google them). There's one called "alpha air ascending binaural beats" or something, which is pretty good for relaxation.

It changes the Youtube video into a .mp3 file.
I suppose the YT beats work for some people, not for others.

The ones on youtube don't work, they don't sort the beats in to the correct ear (left or right) The app "brainwave" is free if you jailbreak your ipod :x i paid for it though, and yes, it works, I havn't experimented fully with the LD one, but the "creativity boost" helped me come up with ideas for my greatest projects (animator here) (also, that could be the placebo affect, but i still use it 'cause it works) positive mood worked for me... Most of it works to be honest.

Must be a placebo effect for me, then. I guess they won't work now, so I'll be lurking this thread to see if anyone posts actual beats.

That's okay! I just don't want to suggest them to another person if they won't work.

The ones I use aren't free, but they aren't expensive, either. $15, bought a CD by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson. He does many, in different ranges, but my favourite is the Theta Meditation System 2.0

Does it induce lucid dreams for me? No. Why use it? In a sense, training. I find that with every day practice, I am now able to relax and induce SP faster (in preparation for WILDs) than I used to be able to. Plus, they sound really nice

i also enjoy the sounds. very relaxing indeed. they might not work for you. but i only tried one legit beat and it worked the very first time i used it, the only time i used it. i feel like i might be more prone to them or something.

There is an app for ipod touch and iphone called "Brain Wave - 23 Binaural Programs", paid, $1,99 on the appstore.
I have it here, will try tonight or tomorrow.

I was checking it right now. Looks like they are real brain waves. I'll see what I get as soon as I use.

try it in the left ear w/o the right one... the reversed. did you hear a difference? if not, then they may not be real.

I could say that there is some difference. Using in the right position, they sound softer, inverted they sound a bit louder.

a slight difference is all that there needs to be, they are using high frequency sounds in both ear pieces and they are slightly different to make a combined frequency in your head to trick your brain into thinking that its ready for dreaming. its kind of a cool trick.

Yeah, I know this. I used the idoser thing once, lame. This one sounds better, softer, they sound at a much more steady low theta frequency, with not many variations. I think i'll give it a try today and WILD tomorrow (because i'll sleep more tomorrow, hehe). I'll post results.
