My 1st Lucid Dream
Hey everyone! i am so exiceted because last night i had my fisrt lucid dream!!! I was standing on the dresser (?) in my room and my brother was talking some foreign language. Then i thought, "i must be dreaming!" I started to float and was so excited, but i read that if you get too excited you can wake up, so i calmed down eventually, and figured i should get out of the house. I tried to pass through the ceiling, but it didnt work, and the windows wouldnt work either. So i put my hands on a wall (still floating by the way) and concentrated really hard and passed right through it! I was floating outside, ready to explore. I flew around the neighborhood, looking into the windows like the creeper that i am, but started feeling my dream slipping away. So then i tried the spinning technique (which i also read about on this site) and kept on repeating to myself that i was dreaming because i didnt want to forget that i was dreaming. So i ended up in some sort of TV set for Home Improvement (??) and tim allen started talking to me. Then i woke up (NOOO!) and just layed in bed for a good 15 mins thinking about how happy i was that i just had a lucid dream. After i wrote it down in my dream journal and looked at the time ( only a half hour had gone by, i woke up at 3:30, had m lucid dream, and woke up at 4) i realized that I had been trying for months, writing in my dream journal and all that, and nothing happened so i was just so overjoyed that i oculd finally do it! I was wondering though, does the technique where you think of something (like a place) and turn around to find it there, actually work? Hopefully someone more experienced could let me know. But anyways, i just wanted to share my first lucid dream, and hopefully many more will come my way!

Congratulations.
I never use the turning arround technique, well, I never did yet. I find much easier to use the door method, always works and you don't destabilize the dream. I like using portals too, but the dreams most of the time gets destabilized or I lose some degree of lucidity.

Hmm, you remind me of someone I know.
Congrats on the lucid!
