Semi-Lucid dream? Or dream about lucidity...

So last night, I think I came the closest yet to attaining lucidity in a dream. I've been trying for about a month now, and have nearly made it. I'm not sure if last night was actually a lucid dream, or a dream about a lucid dream...

      Here's what happened:

I was standing in the living room in front of two people, talking about new powers I had. They would not believe me, so I showed them. I closed my eyes and held out my hands, palms up. In my mind, I imagined an apple in my right hand. I then FELT something appear in my right hand and, when I looked, there was an apple in my hand.

Everyone was very surprised since they had seen it appear. I said, “How about an orange?” I closed my eyes, and imagined an orange appearing in my left hand. Again, I FELT something appear in my left hand. Opening my eyes, there was an orange in my left hand. I gave the fruit to the people on the couch.

      [CUT TO NEW SCENE]

I was sitting in front of a computer with a very large (50” or more) display. In my mind, I imagined breaking into a bank computer and when I looked at the monitor, I was in the bank’s computer system. I laughed and asked the person I was with if we should make ourselves millionaires. He talked me out of it, saying it’s too obvious to transfer that much money at once.

He then tried typing on the keyboard, but found it was the wrong keyboard for what he wanted to do. They keyboard was missing keys, so I imagined a new, backlit keyboard and it appeared on the desk. He started working on it.

      [CUT TO ANOTHER NEW SCENE]

I was in a spaceship, looking at an oval shaped room. Around the room ran a track that essentially looked like a figure 8 folded so that the ends touched. There was a steel inset rail running the centre of the track and a vehicle rapidly moving around the track, following the inset rail. I knew that this vehicle was for people to sit or stand on, and it simulated gravity from moving around in circles.

I was weightless, and a bit disoriented, because I could not tell which direction was "up." I then thought back to a book called "Ender's Game" that I recently read. In this book, the character says that, in zer-gravity, "down" is whatever direction you decide it is.

With that in mind, I made up my mind, floated to the opposite side of the room, closed my eyes for a second and imagined that I was on the floor. When I opened my eyes, I was no longer disoriented.
      -------------

That's all I remember from the dreams last night. The most amazing thing about it was making the fruit appear in my hands. Actually FEELING the fruit materialize is something I've never felt in dreams before. I'm not entirely sure I was lucid, since I did no reality checks in my dreams. I don't know if the decisions to create fruit, hack a computer, create a keyboard, or figure out which side was "down" were actually conscious or a part of the dream. This is the problem I have noticed. I have not been able to get my mind to move past the point where I can realize it's a dream. Can anyone tell me what they think? If I'm lucid, does it feel like when I'm awake, but I can do strange things, or does it feel like a different type of consciousness.

Thanks for reading this whole post. I know it's long, but I'm excited about what happened, lucid or not. It's the coolest thing I've done in a dream.

      Thanks!

Nice, you know to control your dreams. Lucid Dreaming is aware that your dreaming. When you were using your powers, did you know that you were dreaming? That's all it is.

Raetin explained it perfectly. As long as you have a sense of awareness by means of knowing that you're dreaming, it's a lucid.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Anytime you can think "im dreaming" than your lucid. It doesnt need to be long or really controlled.

But dont worrie i posted something simalure when i was new.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

Sometimes you say "I'm dreaming" without any awareness or realization, though. In that case you're just dreaming that you're lucid, without actually being lucid.

Thinking more about it, and reading your above posts, I think I was not lucid. There was no point (that I can recall) where I said, "Hey, I'm dreaming," and proceeded to use or abuse my powers. Last night was a no-go for lucid. I need to get better at RC in waking time so it becomes a habit. At least I'm remembering a lot more of my dreams! I've developed the habit where I start thinking to myself "I'll remember my dreams" as I'm trying to fall asleep. It seems to be helping too. I think it might be the RCs that are hindering me. More to come ...

Dream control and lucidity are not the same thing. I can practice different forms of dream control in non lucids the only thing is I believe it is real powers. I have many dreams that I cant say are lucid because I never realize I am dreaming but I do things I wouldnt normally do because I know nothing is real. My thoughts are "hmmm none of this is real" but I dont think "since this isnt real the only other thing it could be is a dream" I dont know how I rationalize the fact that I am in a fake world without knowing it is a dream.

I accept that my reality is always a dream so if something changes I know I'm right.

Definitely, you can fly and do all sorts of things in a non-lucid. Your logic or "awareness" center is basically turned off, which accounts for the lack of questioning you do while non-lucid.

So would what Im talking about be what people would call semi-lucid? You know that it isnt right but you arent really aware that you are dreaming. I just do wjhatever but Im sure if I even heard the word dream it would click and I would feel like an idiot for not remembering that people have dreams.

You're aware, but not completely conscious like you are in real life. You might have a vague sense of awareness that you're dreaming, but aren't fully functional in the dream.
