      Question 4am wakeups and sp

Hi, ive been attempting lucid dreams by using a relaxation technique i found on utube which pretty much (for me) every time i do it i go into sp but then my eyes go crazy i cant stop openeing them or close them for very long i try to visualize laying on a raft or daydream think about my breathing or heartbeat deosnt work
and every night i have done this i wake up about 5-6 hours after i fall asleep.
Am i having lucid dreams and not remembering them? this is the time when i go into REM right?

Umm by opening and closing do you mean vibrating like really fast? cause I used to get that when attempting to WILD prevented me from going into SP even. If your eyelids arnt shut you wont be able to enter a lucid dream (I think) this would be most likely why you are not having lucid dreams with the WILD technique. The way I stopped it was by concentrating on keeping my eyes shut after about a week my eyelids didnt go crazy anymore. Yet to get as far as SP through WILD, but im here hoping

3 things I can say, practice will help your eyes relax. blindfolds help, and its exponentially easier if you combine this with WBTB

I had the same problem during my first attempts.
Since I didn't have a blindfold, I made my room completely dark at night.
This way, even if my eyes open by themselves, I could just ignore it, because I didn't see anything that would distract me, and they would close again after a few seconds.

It is normal that your eyes will start moving around rapidly, it's weird at first, but if you don't focus on it you'll stop noticing that it happens.
Sometimes you may also feel strong vibrations in your eyes / eyelids. Again, just ignore it, it'll go away.

      Dreams are simple.
It's the painfully simple things the human mind cannot comprehend.
After all your mind is trained to understand the complexity of the waking world,
not the simplicity of the dream world.

right i have learnt a lot more since i posted this. the problem was that my eyes were really tired and me holding them shut tired them out, others have had this problem and the cure is 30 mins of darkness before attempting whatever. also this was at around 9-11pm before rem. thou the technique i was using was made for WILDing a bunch of utube videos and some articles from this website have pretty much got it covered

It's common to wake up at that time, most of the time you go right back to sleep and forget it even happened, you are only noticing it now because you're trying to lucid dream. You are right, that's the time to try and WILD
