Hey ya'll, some questions:

A dream guide is essentially a dream figure with a lot of knowledge about your dream world. Basically, you could say that it's a part of your subconscious that's much more aware of your inner workings. That's why dream guides know so much about your personal dream world. They represent that aspect of your personality.
So the benefits of meeting up with your dream guides are manifold.
1. They can teach you stuff about your dreams, explain dream themes, what certain items, places or people might mean to you.
2. They can help you become lucid more often, or achieve higher levels of lucidity. Since they know how your subconscious works - and probably better than your conscious self does - they can often show you tricks.
3. Since they represent a part of your Inner Self, you can learn stuff from them just by talking to them.
Dream guides can show themselves in many different ways. Not all of them have to be omniscient beings that know everything. Some people have several dream guides, each with their own purpose. Some look to a dream guide as a kind of mentor, others just want a good conversation partner with lots of valuable insights to offer. You could also ask the guide to literally give you a tour of the specific dream you might be in. The possibilities are nearly endless.

wow. interesting concept - interacting with a more intuitive version of yourself. Even when I am lucid in a dream, I don't think too rationally. A dream guide would really help.
Can you "summon" them or is it harder than that?
Finding my dream guide was one of my goals when I started lucid dreaming, but now that I read this post, I realize I've never even attempted to find my dream guide.
Any tips on distinguishing between your real dream guide and dream characters trying to mess with you?
amalso interested in dream guide. Can anybody link to a dj post where they first met a dream guide, or recall some experiences? This would be helpful to me.
Hmm... i think there was a post around here somewhere that Nomad did... let me look for it...
