IN my first lucid dream, i did a RC, the pinch the nose, to see if i could breath, i did that, and i could. And because that was my first one, i was really exited i me being able to breath while pinching my nose. so i kept doing it. after maybe the fifth time, my nose became a bit stuffy, i could still breath a bit though. And same thing happened today too, while lucid for 15 sec.
Anyone else have that before?
Reality checks can fail or become realistic in nature. That's why it's important to vary the types of RCs you do.
I've become used to not doing more than five or six nose-plug reality checks a day, because recently they've started to fail (although I'd still become lucid).
Yup, that happened to me, failed a RC/doubted it in dream because my nose was stuffy which distracted me. Silly, silly, silly. Led to brief semi-lucidity
I dont use the nose plug reaility check because I have weird sinuses and if I block my nose and blow I feel air going into my tear duct...really pisses me off lol
lol almost happened again last night but thankfully it succeeded.. gotta find another reliable RC to do while in my next lucid.. one just isn't enough

I once tried to tug on my finger in order to make it stretch. The reasoning was that if it stretched, I was dreaming. The joints/knuckles seperated from the bones of the finger as it stretched and OMG the pain was horrid!
At the time I thought I'd just done damage to myself and it wasn't a successful RC. I still became lucid later on though.
oh wow, Foul, that must have been bad. I actually have the finger tug as one of my three regular RC's. :cheeky: Have never used it in a dream before though. Ill try not to keep in your experience in mind, as Henry Ford Said, "believe you can or believe you cant, either way yuor right". :P (or maybe i should just change it to a different one)
haha Well I look back on it fondly now. It was kind of funny.
so today i finally tried the finger tug in my latest lucid!
and my finger stretched about 9 INCHES! i was amazed! then it kinda slowly shrunk back. it was awesome! :P
Thatspretty cool dreamwve- experience any pain like foul did? Props on remembering to test it out btw :-) ill do my best to remember to test this also as I search for other consistant RCs
