I would think this would pay off in waking life, such as you are looking for an opportunity and it comes to you. Manifestation on some level, i would think that lucid dreaming would help with conscious manifestation because of your sub-conscious control and it being the "higher" consciousness i would think some of this control would trickle down. Wouldn't you think?
No, I wouldn't think that because the reason things happen in your dreams is because you expect them to. This happens because everything within your dream is created by your mind. A dream is essentially your mind filling in your five senses with information that you create, and that is why we can alter them. If you were able to alter the real world the way you altered your dreams, you would not actually be changing reality, but you would be creating false information in your real five senses. It would be like willful hallucinations, like turning random noise from a fan into voices, or when you close your eyes or have near complete darkness, you can see static, and you can form images from it. I have done both of these, but that is because I have an over active pattern seeking nature. I see patterns where there are none(ie. make them up), and while everyone does it a little (hearing your name randomly in a crowd), to actually hear voices well enough to have a conversation, I'm pretty much schizophrenic... again, the nature of the voices is ALWAYS what i expect to happen, unless i have no expectations at the time.
