Can't stop thinking about waking up

I have plenty of lucids yet most of them are extremely short because after becoming lucid I tend to think something like''God I hope I won't wake up''.And then I do...
I've had this problem for a few months now and it's getting really frustrating.Stabilizing the dream doesn't really help and I have no idea what to do in order to stop thinking about the dream ending.

Any ideas would be really appreciated:)

Well, I had that in my last ld. I got lucid and immediately thought: "Damn I hope I won't wake up" I felt how I got nervous but then I made a "counter thought" I said to myself: "Nah I won't wake up now, that would be too ridiculous!" After that I totally forgot the fear of waking up and could continue. I hope this helps you. :)

I would try to focus on the dream more. It is ok to have thoughts like that and they wont force you out of the dream unless you either think that they will or you put too much focus on them. In my opinion the main point of stabilization is to establish focus on the dreamworld, so don't just rub your hands or spin with your mind on something else. Focus on sensations and vision to concrete yourself in the dream.

I've had the same problem a couple times as well. That happened actually in my last lucid dream, cause i was trying to just walk in this dream park and observe as appose to go fly, i wanted to have a more vivid experience and take everything in. Doing this was a little too calm for a fairly new lucid dreamer though i think and i thought about waking and did shortly after (though i think i was at the end of a REM cycle). I do find if quick on your feet more so you don't think of waking as much.

Similar to what has been said above. Obviously if you are trying not to think about something, like waking up from a dream, that will be the one thing you will think about. Trying to push something away only gives it more energy.

So you need to divert your focus onto something else. That is basically what the spinning and hand rubbing techniques are for; they cause you to focus on the sensation. So without trying to not think about waking up, choose an activity to engage in. You can pre-plan this while awake. "Next time I am dreaming I will walk through walls; I will fly; I will use telekinesis." With your attention on your goal, that should be enough to keep your firmly focused in the dream without attempting to push away thoughts of waking up.

I have practiced this to the point that when I begin to wake up, I just move my attention to the dream environment which causes it to stabilize again.

i remember one of my other lucids i ended up falling on the ground and touched the grass to sustain lucidity/not wake up. Because you are feeling 'the dream' as appose to your outside senses coming into focus, the feeling of lying in bed for instance.

Thanks guys for everything.Just last night I had another lucid and remembered what Katsuno said.And guess what?IT WORKED!!!It was the only decent length lucid I've had for quite some time so thanks again:banana:
