Impossible perspectives
Impossible perspectives: anyone experience this?
Basically stuff like an Escher painting. Its interesting, though it does detract from the realism if that is what you are looking for.
For example last night I was standing on a ridge in a valley. There were mountains in the distance covered in trees, with the valley between me and them. When I looked down and followed the valley towards the cliffs, I noticed that there wasn't enough land between me and them for them to appear so far away.
Difficult to describe. Look out your window across the street, and imagine what look like huge cliffs where a house would be. They look far away, but if you tracked your eyes across the road and back to where you are standing there would only be a small distance between you and them, even though the transition is seamless.
Any experiences like this, do you enjoy it or treat it more as a "dream glitch?"

Kind of like the Penrose steps in Inception. Never thought to, but I figure it would be cool to try to create some of this stuff in a dream. I'll be interested to hear other stories

hmm cool. Well, little things like perspective dont really matter in dreams, do they?
-
Not really, it is just kind of cool. If you're looking for a 100% rendition of real life it can detract a little.
I've also gone flying, and noticed dandelions and blades of grass that are the size of houses.

I get similar strange effects where my field of vision will collapse. I will be looking at something in the distance, and it will suddenly jump forward in space, so it is right next to me. This causes problems with scale, as you mentioned. A far away building will suddenly be close, and seem unnaturally small.
