Help With Lucid Dreams (Any Methods?)

I am New to this site, so please be nice and try to help out.

      ----------
So, I have been trying to Lucid Dream recently, but just can't seem to make it click.

I can't really get myself to realize its a dream, and try to control it.
I did follow the steps on the page (MILD, DILD, etc), but its kinda confusing.

Does anyone have a useful method to Lucid Dream?
(Like, Controlling your dream while you dream?)

I actually did Lucid Dream about 6 mouths ago, as I recall, and it only lasted about 5 seconds. (Got too excited )

Hey man! I'm pretty new to the site too. I myself need some good techniques but I have personally experienced (and read about) a couple of things you can do IN the dream to maintain lucidity.
The first thing that works about 50% for me, is yelling "Increase Lucidity!" in my dream. I know it sounds stupid, but it should work.
The second thing that I noticed will keep me in my dream about 99.99% of the time, is spinning.

I was in a lucid dream once where I could feel myself waking up only seconds after attaining lucidity and I guess out of something I read, I started spinning and I stayed lucid and proceeded to fly out of Chipotle. (Yes, I became lucid in a Chipotle burrito restaurant)

this advice is currently useless to me since my induction is very poor and it'll be pure luck if I can lucid dream.

If you DO happen to go lucid, in case you want to try doing some pretty BA stuff, (ex. shooting a fireball from your palm, making a dinosaur appear out of thin air)
      Remember!
Don't try to use your body. Instead use your mind/imagination. I remember once I tried to fire bend (yes, from avatar) but I couldn't do anything. I later realized this is because I thought my HAND was in control of the fire, whereas in fact it is your own head.
This is why you may sooner or later realize that it is difficult to change the surroundings of your dream, since you must imagine it all to begin with.

      Hope this helps :]

Hey! This is what I wrote on another post.

If you are dedicated, I'd say you'll have your first one within a few days. But it's like Zebrah says, it varies from person to person. Your DJ is something you need to write in every day if you can, the more you recall from your dreams, the better your recall will get. In time you'll remember loads of them each night.

If you want to try really hard, I suggest you think about lucid dreaming all day long. Daydream about what you WILL do. Know you will have one within a few days, and realitycheck a few times each hour. Just before bed, you either meditate or clear your mind in any other way. Then you tell yourself you WILL have a lucid dream. Repeat a small line, like; "I am dreaming" or "I lucid dream" over and over for as long as you can. That is called a "mantra". Don't let it keep you up, but try to have the last thought before you go to sleep about lucid dreaming.

If you can fall asleep quickly, I suggest you try to sleep for as long as you can. Everytime you wake up during that time, you tell yourself "When I fall asleep I will lucid dream" and do the mantra.

This is ofcourse to try to get a lucid quickly. You shouldn't overdo lucid dreaming as you can get tired of it. It's a long term hobby, which takes some time to master.

As for dreamcontrol, just believe in yourself and it will be alright I am using my hands to use telekinesis, as it's the way people do it in movies. Which helps me to believe in my powers more easily.

      Good luck!
