Alright, I'm sure just about everyone and their dog on this forum has seen inception, right? In the scene where Cobb is explaining the dream world to Ariadne, he draws a circle with two arrows (Creating and Perceiving) he then draws a line through the middle which is where "they" come in.. But that's not the part I'm talking about. He goes on to say.
"Our mind does this so well that we don't even know it's happening"
(Creating and Perceiving)
I instantly recognized said analogy, this is one of my own that I have used to explain lucid dreaming to many friends! Before I had even heard of the movie inception..
Only mine was a little less direct...
I used a painting...
"So AJ, when you explore unknown worlds in a dream or a lucid dream.. It is like you are appreciating a painting. This painting is already done, but at the same time you are creating it. You are appreciating a painting that you are creating RIGHT NOW but to you, it's done.."
That's basically what I told AJ, my cousin... I feel smart :D
The crappy thing is, I can explain to anyone what an LD is in a few seconds, I can give them over a dozen tips and tricks to having LD's more frequently
[exaggeration]and I could probably format a DJ for one of my friends at the same time![/exaggeration] But the sad thing is.. I haven't had ONE LD in over a year...
BTW everyone. watch inception AGAIN. It's even better the 5th time!!!
