      Shortest, but most vivid LD

So I had finals today and school starts a little later, but I couldn't sleep last night cause I kept thinking about the P90x workout program I will be starting soon and kept looking up results videos.

      ANYWAY

At around 3am I fell asleep and woke up again at 5:30, 5:31, 5:32, and 5:33 to turn off alarms cause I knew I would sleep through them if I didn't. I fell back asleep anyway after turning them off and was awaken at 7:30 by my mom to ask if I go to school which I promptly told her I start at 9:30 as unangrily as I could, and went back to sleep.

Upon dreaming, I had $2012 in my pocket and my friend Nick who is a semi-bodybuilder was with me and we were buying these mask things. He wanted to buy some expensive weights after but I wanted to donate the money to needy children in Africa for some reason (idk why...) and he called me a fucking bitch and walked off and I yelled at him and walked away too.

2 seconds after I started walking away I was like... "Wait, Nick never gets pissed at me. EVER. OR swears like that! I must be dreaming. I must be lucid dreaming" BOOM I was in the dream. What were my thoughts?

      - Don't blink. It might ruin the dream (I know... what the hell?)
      - Lick the brick wall in front of you (I heard it increases lucidity)

So you know, I don't blink and that was a bad idea. I was aware that I wasn't blinking. This was probably the most lucid out of my LD, and my eyes started to sting.

Also, licking the wall was very good. Increased lucidity 10x and since I could feel the dream fading away, I summoned a girl I liked but before I could turn around to see her, the dream vanished cause I had to close my eyes since it burned so bad.

I fell backwards in an attempt to achieve a false awakening, but was lead into another dream consisting of children's stories about fish and sumo wrestlers.

      ANYWAY

It was a great dream and ended my dry spell of about 3 weeks, pretty excited. I find it ironic that once again it was triggered when I told myself to give it up since I will be starting P90x soon. Last time a LD happened I told myself to give it up since it's not working anymore.

TL;DR Very vivid LD, resembled real life. Even better even! Dry spell ended, gimme more

nice, i wouldnt try to think of all that crazy stuff like blinking ruins dreams and licking stuff. id just keep it simple, rub hands to increase clarity(licking a wall is strange to me) and do reality checks to increase lucidity. nice one though

Licking a brick wall increases your lucidity?! Well, isn't that a strange technique.. I usually just stare at my hands. But, hey, do whatever works for you. Congratulations, though! Always a nice surprise to fall sleep to find yourself in a lucid dream out of nowhere without even really having to try.

Also, why give up lucid dreaming for the P90x routine you're picking up? They don't really seem like they overlap or take away from each other.. In fact, that workout is nothing short of intense from what I head, so you'll being going to bed more exhausted than ever, fall into a deeper sleep, maybe have some more lucid dreams like this one. Eh? Ehhh??

      Haha yeah

I'll be working out in the mornings, and will probably start a dream journal since my biggest problem is waking up and recording it. But since I'm dedicated to the workout I should be able to write down some dreams while the DVD is loading or whatever.

Going to try binaural beats for the first time right now, wish me luck!

P.S Haha yeah licking brick walls increase lucidity for me I guess that was the first time I had done it, I still wish I didn't think about blinking. The dream was just so real that I didn't want it to disappear by me blinking even though I blink plenty of times in my other LD's.
