Question Was I close to a WILD or not????

OK. A few minutes ago I got up from bed because of a failed attempt of a WILD. I'll go ahead and start from the beginning of my day. OK, I wake up at 5:12 this morning and attempted a WBTB since I have a snow day today. That failed. I woke up around 12 noon and I stayed up for a while. The thought of LD is just so great so after an hour or two, I wanted to attempt a WILD. OK, now this where the details are, I start by relaxing my whole body. I was doing it in a way where I was like talking to my subconscious. I know I'm weird, I like talk to myself for a living but, I was also "talking" to my subconscious about going to sleep but still keeping awareness. Every once in a while when I exhale, I imagine a wave of relaxation starting from my head and just slowly goes down to my feet. Now, after about 20 minutes of relaxation, I start to get a "swirling" feeling and I keep my thoughts to a minimum. Then, I start to feel as though a box is being put on my head. I continue the relaxing thing, then out of nowhere, I start to see a vague field of colors. I mean, as soon as I notice them, I snap back and I'm doing the relaxing thing. I don't know how to prepare myself for this because It's like so random and I don't know when to expect it. It's like I feel I'm not thinking of anything and I start to loose awareness of my body and then that's when I get those field of colors and such. This feeling only lasts half a second tops. I thing this is the closest I've ever gotten to a WILD and I just don't know how to prepare myself for that random feeling. Can anyone please help me here? Thanks.

It's OK to be disturb by these things (I'm trying to wild right now and i can't even fall asleep). Anyway i think you are good. Those vague field of colours you saw were probable Hypnagogic Hallucinations it's normal you are doing great. the pressure that you felt on your head may be a sign that you went into (sleep paralysis) your body shut down attention goes from outside world to inner self. so far everything went right. now you need to know how to do the transitional phase (entering the dream). this can be done by visualizing your self in the dream. or simply try to get up (false awakening scenario) your dream body will get up. don't forget to perform reality check.

I think the best way to do it is by trial... but you can also increase your knowledge by reading other tread about wild here
