Constantly hearing noises?

Okay so if you read my last thread (Its a couple of threads down from this one). Well anyhow, last night (morning time) I stay up all night then tryed getting Lucid, so I started off as feeling legs were getting heavier, but it was seriously taking for ever to do this. I was staying very still, but my lips go kinda dry, so I would lick them to prevent irritation, anyhow, I would CONSTANTLY hear these noises, and like they weren't nothing special, but its like I only heard them now, for example if your ever in your house, and the wood is contracting in the walls due to the cold air, you would hear like these snaps, anyhow it would seriously scare the shit out of me, it would increase my heart rate from slow to high, anyhow I felt these noises would interrupt me, and it was pissing me off, then all of sudden, I remember months ago I heard a shotgun like noise next to my head, but it was nothing like that this time, they were just regular noises. Then every once and a while I would open my eyes and just before I opened them I would Literraly see a very light room, like the lights were on, it was almost like I was in a movie, then I would see real life, its kinda weird, maybe it doesnt make sense, but it was like almost like a flash of light when I opened my eyes.
And I also recall seeing a little spark it looked like when my eyes were closed... GUYS IM SO CLOSE! Help me! I wanna get there. I know im not doing something wrong, oh yes, I also breath out my mouth, but then I switch over to nose, I take deep breathes, and this is what helps me get in the half sleep paralysis mode, I never felt sleep paralysis though... any help?

are you trying to wake induce a lucid dream when you first go to bed? thats usually not a great way to get lucid, if you want to do wake induced try wake back to bed, like, sleep for 8 hours (or slightly less than you normally sleep for, i generally sleep 10), wake up, go to the bathroom and go straight back to bed then try what you were doing before ... thats what i do anyways since im too lazy to be reality checking all the time, but im not really an expert

Sounds like you were experiencing some hypnagogic imagery, and the first phase of sleep paralysis, and that my friend, should be very exciting for you! That means progress

As for hearing sounds and seeing lights, its all part of falling asleep. Just go with the flow

Funny because, going with the flow at first is much easier said then done. Here is what I do when I want to induce sleep paralysis, and eventually a lucid dream:

Step one: Lay in the most comfortable position possible, because the goal here is to not move at all. You want your body to fall asleep before your mind does.

Step two: Think of something very simple over and over. Like the word nana, pen, ect. Keep saying this to yourself as you fall asleep over and over. This is very effective because when your trying to induce sleep paralysis, you mind gets side tracked at the drop of a pin, so you need something to keep it on track. If you associate the words "pen" or "nana" to sleep paralysis, you mind will have an easier time going towards the goal at hand.

Step three: When you feel yourself falling asleep, RELAX. This is the part that people tend to really lose their focus, and get slightly freaked out at times. As your body goes further and further into sleep, you will start to feel greatly relaxed, and may feel vibrations all over your body. At times I feel slight pressure on my neck and chest. It's all part of the plan man, so just go with it =)

Step four: Visualize yourself in an ideal dream setting, and start to ask yourself, "Am I dreaming?" By this point, the visualizations should take you to the desired location, and you should be preforming your favorite reality checks.

Hey VastAwakening, I tryed it again, Although ill seriously lay there for like an hour and I don't get anything, its almost like if I am waiting for Sleep Paralysis I dont get tired, maybe this is because I lay in one spot and dont move, but when I am regulary trying to go alseep, ill switch from one side of bed to another before getting comfortable, maybe im not focusing on one thing, I will try this.

To enter SP you have to stay still, that's the whole point. Moving even a little bit will set you back again.

Exactly what mattbrox said. In order to enter sleep paralysis you need to stay completely still. And I usually get better results if I go to bed tired. That way your more relaxed, wanting to go to sleep, and actually able to stay in one place without getting bored or impatient.

One thing that almost boosts me into SP is pushing through and ignoring little itches I get on my face or my legs. Cause those are hard signals from your brain testing to see if you're awake or not. Once I push through the need to scratch my face or move my legs, I instantly feel a heaviness flow over me.

So your best bet is to go to bed tired, and do whatever you need to do to become comfortable, and stay in that position.

And the best part is, even if you dont have a lucid dream, you will still be able to experience sleep paralysis, and that it itself is to cool.
