Upset with myself

I'm a little upset with myself this morning because I went to bed last night unprepared. No pen or paper on the night stand. I know I had 2 really good dreams last night, the first was about an hour into it. I woke & thought, I gotta get up & get a pen. Then the lazy MAXX said, "Oh you'll remember it", well as you all know we don't. I did recall some of the 2nd dream & did enter it into my DJ. Sorry to be a winer here, just makes me feel a little better posting. I'm going to make sure I have my stuff tonight. The wife sometimes complains that I wake her up when it's 3 am & I'm recording a dream. Oh Well, she'll get over it.

I do this too and it's really annoying.Something that works is say to yourself that you will write down your dream as soon as you wake up.And of course have some paper and pen near your bed.

Also, don't worry! You won't be back at square one if you don't write your dreams down and slack off a bit. Taking a break once and a while can even do you good to make you more motivated to get back in business.

My girlfriend also used to wake up when I wrote down my dreams. Now I have the pen and paper next to the bed on a chair, and I silently write down words that I know will trigger the memory. Dream like a ninja, and then write like one!

I generally get discouraged and don't care a lick about recording when I've been losing sleep the nights before. Especially if the dream initially doesn't seem too interesting (but they often unravel into multiple memories, so I really should push myself). Plus, I'm married, and the wife and gonna dig my turning on a bright iPhone and dream journaling, but it's my best bet when compared to getting up and using the voice recorder.

Matt, that's a good idea. I was thinking about it & I have this small stool that's about a foot shorter that the bed. If I put my stuff on that I think I'll be able to record the important info I need for the morning. Funny you mentioned being like a ninja, I kind of do that already, If she had any idea what went on in that bed while we were "sleeping":lol: On a more serious note, I think that keeping a DJ is the best possible format for me to succeed at lucidity. I'm really working on doing the RC's all day long in hope's of it transferring into the dreams. It seems like every dream I've had since joining here could/should have been lucid & wish they were. I read a thread earlier about fake lucid dreaming people & thought, why? Just looking for attention I would imagine. I don't think I will make such a big deal of it here on the web site, I'll record in my DJ, but this is for me to really enjoy. OK, gotta go...Can you tell I had a bit of caffeine this afternoon? Get the wife involved in the same thing, then she can't complain but you may be woken up on her recording ventures.
