Its just not working
so my lucid dreams are just not working.
I have became lucid a few times, and controled a dream twices. But lately when I become lucid nothing happens. Im in the same spot and nothing changes. I try to fly, i try to close my eyes and imagine something, i try opening doors just so the scene or something can chhange but nothing is happening besides me being aware that im dreaming. what am I missing here ?

I heard spinning yourself around helps

spinning helps when the dream is fading and you are trying to prolong it, or if you want to change scenery. As for the dream control being a bit under your expectations, it comes with practice. It is a lot easier if you completely acknowledge and accept the fact that you are in a dream.
Another thing that can be helpful is rubbing your hands or concentrating on your surroundings. It makes the dream more vivid and sometimes a bit easier to control. Other than that, it is all about practice. My first few LDs i tried to fly and failed miserably, but now i can just jump into the air whenever i want or just snap my fingers and instantly change the scenery.
The most important thing is not to give up. Your dream control will improve as time goes on, just like anything else you practice.

ive tried spinning but that didnt work either. ill try rubbing my hands though

You could try alternate methods of things you want to do while dreaming, for example, flying. When I first started to have LDs, I couldn't make myself fly by just "wanting" it, until I pictured myself with a jetpack on my back. Then, I flew with no problem. Ever since then, I haven't needed the jetpack to fly.
Above all, just try to work on one thing at a time. Go to bed with a lucid goal, but just one. Try really hard to focus on just one thing you want to do. Take it one step at a time, you'll get it. :)

Right now, visually imagine one thing you want to do in a lucid dream, like flying. Easy, right? Nothing's holding you back from imagining that. Your thoughts are unlimited and without boundaries. You can imagine anything you want. Everyone can agree with this.
Now realize this: Dreams are your imagination. If you can visually imagine flying in your head, you can do it right there in a dream. Like imagining something while you're awake, there are no boundaries in dreams. No limitations. Dreams are thoughts, just vivider.
The only boundaries and limits in lucid dreams are what you set yourself. Rid of those instincts and beliefs inspired by your waking life. You're in your thoughts, your imagination, your mind. What the hell could stop you from thinking what you want?
