Anchor problems

I have tried many different anchors and one time I got a brainwave lucid tone to work for me(Just a continuous sound). When I became lucid in my dream I decided to take in all of my sences because I have heard that if you do it will increase your lucidity. I was obviosly able to take in sight. I tried my touch I could feel my hand. When I went to test out my hearing all I could hear was the brainwave tone. I went to reach for my ear peices in my dream and I woke up from thinking about my ear peices in real life.

My question is if you use any sound anchor can you not submerge yourself into the dream as deeply and hear sounds around you?

Has no one using music or any other sound as their anchor experienced this I use head phones so maybe thats the problem?
