Darkness in dreams .
Hi DV,
I just woke up from a Lucid, but It was a dark one ( No lights I can barely see who or what's there ) I tried a lot to open the light in the dream but It wasn't working, I asked my father to open it too, but he ran away :/
It happens some times to me while lucid dreaming , which bothers me because I don't have much time to lucid dream, so its like 1 out of three lucids are all dark .
Any Ideas ?

I would suggest searching the forums, there's bound to be someone that's had the same problem.

You can try shouting "Lights on" or something similar. Or walk to a wall and feel around for a light switch. If you expect to find one, you may just make it appear. Or you can try some technique to change locations, and hope the new location has lights. Or just start running. If you can't see a wall you won't hit one, and if you hit a wall you would probably pass right through it, since it is just a dream.

I remember doing that, but still no lights, I'm talking about a certain technique to do before sleeping, maybe .

As far as I am concerned, all you can do out of the dream is incubate a certain dream and repeat the mantra, "My next lucid dream won't be dark!".
In the dream is a whole different matter, though. Just open your eyes. Put on some glasses. Something to improve vision in some way. Once I was DEILDing from a different dream, and I just see a little keyboard. I'm just thinking, "Hurry up! I want to have a dream again!", when I just open my eyes all of a sudden. I'm in a hallway in my house.
Really, sometimes all it takes is to open your eyes. You can't see without them. If you try to... well, you could become lucky and see with your eyes closed. But that's not the point. You should try clarity/stabilization techniques and find ways to improve your vision. Many people have had and overcome this problem, and I'm sure you will, too. ;)

If sight is a problem, try a new sense? Either that or make the sun rise, that should solve hte problem.

A few times I have entered a lucid dream and it was completely dark. I focused on other sensations, like rubbing my hands together, and walking around, until my sight improved. One time I had a hard time seeing and I took off a pear of glasses I was wearing in the dream, and my sight instantly got better.

Try focusing on other senses. Often when I WILD the first minute or so will be pitch black and I either feel my way around and focus on sounds and smells until the visuals get better, or if the only thing I can sense is my dream body floating in a void I start spinning until the dream forms around me.

I remember singing some songs to make the dream more vivid and it worked, should try that in making light in the dream .
If didn't work will try to focus on the other senses .
Thanks folks .

The next time you walk into a dark dream, just remember the scene from Demolition Man and say, "Illuminate" and if you want the lights off, say, "Deluminate." :)

I had a slight problem with this myself, it lasted 3 (partial) LDs. I eventually just concentrated on seeing, not on the act of what I had to do to see, if that makes any sense. Flying is a lot like this as well.
If all these great tips fail try developing your "powers." In your dream world your better than Superman, work on having x-ray vision, nighttime vision, and seeing extraordinary colors.
Whatever you do, do not focus on "not seeing." If you have a choice between seeing a sexy person and seeing a butt ugly person don't keep thinking about not seeing the ugly person because then that's your focus.

Ummm have you seen or read the harry potter series? Dumbledore has this lighter that when he clicks it all the lights everywhere go into the lighter and it gets dark. when he clicks it again all the lights go back to there place and it is bright again. So try pulling out a lighter and clicking it to see if lights come on.
