waking up intentially process

I noticed heaps of times when your in a lucid dream and you decide to wake up for whatever reason, from the point when you start the process and the point you actually begin to wake up, that inbetween process is very strange.

like you almost feellike somehting is pulling you back in the dream and i have tu use allmy mental power just to get a visual in the real world. My eyes would half open so i see half my room and half the dream, and something just pulls you right back in. doese anyone know the scientific explination id magine it would be something to do with the cells in your brain and when your in the state where there arnt enough cells to initiate wake up so you just fall back in, which is soemthing obviously controlled by the mind
