Can you really be lucid while you're dreaming?

Hey guys,a few nights ago i had two LDs in a row,and i LD VERY rearly so i don't have much expirience,so I mean to ask you something concerning LDs:

In my dreams I did a lot of RCs and each and every time i was astonished to find out I'm not actually grabing my real nose,and became a little bit aware of my real body
I became lucid,but still i couldn't really stop and think,i behaved as my dream self does just knowing i'm dreaming,I didn't have the confidence to do the same thing twice,like fly etc,i couldn't bring my self to,for instance brake something,or jump through a window for fear that it's not really a dream.

The problem is i didn't have my rational side with me in my dream state,so in a way,i wasn't really lucid.

So my question is:Can one really be lucid?Can you just sit down and think the whole time?Can you just meditate,or paint something,or take a walk,and not pay attention to dragons flying by just by the sheer power of your will,ignoreing the instinct to look?

My opinion is yes but im still very new to Lucid dreaming. I have dreams with varying controll and in some I can influence every aspect and in some I can barely do anything :(. But I know that you can just sit down and think because I did it last night. You can teleport to a peacefull enviroment and just relax.

Yes, one really can be fully lucid. I wouldn't expect it in the first LD, but, give it time. The more LDs you get, the better you'll get at it and you'll find you are more conscious :)

I'm new to lucid dreaming but I do find that the more you do it the easier it gets and the more aware you get. The first time I realised I was dreaming I woke up instantly, second time I was thinking of what to do but nothing came to mind so I just spun around and it ended, and the third one actually lasted a while and I walked up invisible stairs into the sky as a method of flying :)

I believe with practice and concentration, one can truly become lucid and be in control of their dream surroundings, but not in someone's first lucid dream.

this isn't a philospohical question,can anyone here say that,in they're lucid dream,thay have the same power of rason and awareness as in the waking world?

I've never been FULLY Lucid in a dream, but i've been pretty close.
Just last night I had 3 (I think it was really 1 dream but the scene changed a few times) and I was looking around and everything and it was so real and I knew when I woke up I wouldn't be able to remember how everything looked, and I thought about what I was going to write down (This usually causes a false awakening where it right it down, and it did this time too) And I kept thinking "What was I going to do when I became Lucid again?" But couldn't really remember. oh well

Rybread, I have the same problem as feeling my normal body. Every single time I have an LD I feel aware of my body lying in bed and I'm always kind of half-in the dream half-out. Instead of being my self in the dream I am more telling my self what to do, directing my dream character. Kind of how you would control a video game character. background : I've had about 10 LD's and have been very lightly practicing for a year.

Yes you can, the problem is that, when you are starting, it is hard to get out of the dream plot, and if you are new, following the plot might make you lose lucidity quickly. Which is why most people tell you that, as soon as you do a RC in waking, you should question reality and try to do some stabilization technique (Yes, in waking) so that you will think and wait more within the dream and will be more "awake" once lucid.

mine is the same i know im dreaming and imlucid but i still have that fear of getting hurt. iv only been fully lucid few times when i was much younger, where your in a dream and yorcompletly aware that your body is sleeping in your room, and your in a dream and you know what you have to do tomorrow at work etc etc so you have 0 fear and 100% confidence. does anyone know the actual term for bieng fully lucid?

I have experienced a 100% awareness dream where I knew for a fact 100% that I was dreaming. (Has only happened twice, then again, I am still inexperienced in Lucid Dreams myself. Know allot about them, but haven't had many) So it is certainly possible. I didn't necessarily have complete control, as I haven't had much practice, but I knew for a fact that I was dreaming and that everything was a simulation from my mind with no fears at all.

How can you be lucid and not fully aware/know of the dream??
I'm not sure what you mean.

I can. I haven't had loads of lucid dreams but 2 or 3 of them have been vivid enough to warrant that. The best way I can describe it is similar to when you feel tired at night and you're lounging around in front of the tv or something, imagine suddenly becoming wide awake and fully alert in that situation.

Or perhaps imagine watching a cut scene in a video game and then suddenly, seamlessly, you're in total control.

You can be fully lucid in a dream, I've so far only had 6 LD's, but in every single one of them I was 100% sure I was dreaming. In one of the dreams I even decided to relax for a few seconds in awe that I had access to my logic and information that I learned in the real world, in my dream world. I just sat there and THOUGHT about how amazing it was that I was THINKING inside my head. And (if I willed it) my thoughts would just appear.

That particular lucid lasted ~10 minutes (my longest one) and I'll never forget it. So to answer your question, yes, you can become fully lucid in a dream. It's an amazing feeling to just.... KNOW that you are dreaming and that you are a projection of yourself... in your mind/subconscious.

To answer all your questions: Yes. Yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes

What RC did you do in the dream? You seem to lack confidence in your RCs, if using them does not result in you becoming fully lucid. You are still questioning them, even though they fail. Maybe you are doing too many of them, so they are losing importance? There was a time when I was doing too many RCs during my day, I actually spent a dream teaching a group of people how to do the finger through palm technique and didn't become lucid. But usually an RC is always a definitive way for me to become fully lucid. Even if my dream characters are trying to psych me out by telling me that it's not a dream, I can do a simple finger through palm or breath through closed nosed and prove them wrong. You just need to gain confidence in your RCs, when they fail, you're dreaming. Just accept it as fact.

Lost prophet, I am sure you can say you have had parial lucidity. You know you are dreaming, but still think things can hurt you, or that your "sister" over there is real.

I become lucid but i still cant feel my body. How can I get rid of that feeling? Because so far every single lucid dream I've had i've been able to feel my body lying in bed.
