I was recently reminded of a piece of information about sleep paralysis - it stops people from recreating the movement in their dreams. Without it dreams could get very messy.
Does this mean sleep-walkers can't WILD or lucid dream? Are there any sleep walkers out there on the forums?
(I'm asking this question on the assumption that sleep-walkers have problems with sleep paralysis and can't regulate their dream movements.)
IIRC Sleep walking occurs during NREM, and sleep paralysis is only in REM sleep. Sleep walking isn't people acting out their dreams, they usually do things that they would normally do while awake. Like eating, going to the bathroom, turning on the tv, etc. So I don't think it would have an effect on your dreaming at all, but I may be wrong.
To be honest, the only sleep walking I really hear about is pretty dramatised - the sort of 1 in 100000 case where somebody attacks their spouse etc. I'll do a bit of further research but LikesToTrip, your theory seems pretty plausible. Thanks for the reply
Apart from what LikesToTrip said, when attempting to WILD SP is not needed, so it is possible to be a WILD LDer and a sleep walker.
I didn't realise that! Pretty interesting stuff - I always thought that HI etc were a sort of side effect of SP. Can you clarify?Quote:
