So I didn't get much sleep the night before last thanks to daylight savings and I had to work earlier than usual. When I woke up I couldn't remember any real dreams when I always have really good recall. Just fleeting images, which I think were NREM dreams.
Last night I stayed up late, and went to sleep to a generic MILD mantra. I woke up a little less than 3 hours after I fell asleep. I remembered one dream fragment, one short dream, and two longer dreams. I became lucid at the end of the short dream, and halfway through one of the longer dreams. I was really surprised. I've never had even one dream that early in the night, let alone four! And after I went to sleep again I had another 5 dreams, for a total of 9 dreams during the night.
Has anybody else used REM rebound to their advantage? I wonder if I could intentionally sleep deprive myself to have awesome dreams the next night?
EDIT: I think I should mention I took benadryl(which is a REM suppressant) the night before last. That probably had something to do with the lack of REM.
