Why is it that we can wild during an afternoon nap but not at bedtime? This confuses me
I am not completely sure, but if I had to guess I would say that when you nap you go directly into an REM stage. This is because A) You are already somewhat rested due to the sleep of the previous night. And B) Your mind is active from the activities of the day.
WILD works on the idea that you are going from a clean transition from awake to REM, so you stay conscious.
I believe the reason is that during most naps people fall directly into REM sleep. Unless you somehow manage to maintain awareness through NREM sleep phases (insanely difficult if not impossible), then this is a prerequisite to WILD.
Edit: Ninja'd
Every time I nap I don't dream or at least my experience napping recently I have only started recently cause I would love to come home from a long day when I'm tired and enter my own world but recently I just sleep and wake up no dream
I read a thread on this site a while ago about lucid dreaming and nyquil. The guy said he was lucid when it started, then when the dream ended he was still aware, but floating in an empty dream space. So yea, it is possible.
Every person dreams 3 - 5 times on an 8 hour sleep.

I nApped for two hrs
It seems most people have the most vivid dreams in their naps (as do I). Even before I did lucid dreaming (both of which have come during naps) I would look forward to my naps because of the amount of dreams I would have. I guess it differs from person to person, I find it weird for some one to nap and not experience any dreams.
It only really works if the nap is less then 5 hours from the time you woke up.
Not saying that it's impossible.
