Switch the awareness off again?

First of all, i'm not a lucid dreamer, but i'm quite interested in deams and lucid ones. And there is a point i can't figure out, maybe anyone of you can tell me his/her experiences about it:

If you are a lucid dreamer and gained control over a dream, is there a way to make yourself unaware that you're dreaming?
Connected to it, is it possible to let the dream flow without any change, even without active thinking about ist, just like it would have been without your awareness? Is is possible to stop deaming lucid?

This is because i like my dreams so so much. They are wonderful, really bizare sometime. Things happen in such special unbelievable ways, ways that i never would have though of. I fear that when i start dreaming lucid, i loose this by gaining to much control about the deam and make it kind of 'boring' this way. Surely then i can try and experiment with things, which can be fun sometime ... this is limited by my mind, my imagination ... i dont want to limit my dreams. I never want to loose the possibility to get really surprised.

Please tell me what you think about this.

First of all your bizzare and interresting dreams ARE from your imagination. And second, yes, you can lose lucidity. If you find yourself lucid and want to lose it, just try talking to someone and going off for a task that will involve you in the scenario. Don't think about your lucidity and soon you will be lost in your dream. Or you could lucidly go off for a task, that might be fun.

yes they are from my imagination (cortex) but lucid or not depends on where the signals are coming (simply speaking), either totally random ones from the pons, or influenced by your consciousness (which limits the variety of signals to a very low amout). My question is whether i can switch back to the random signals...

... Don't think about your lucidity ... hard to imagine. I know how hard it is to loose awareness on breathing, once you concentrated on it. Is this comparable?

Once lucid i usually stay that way until morning or i awake. Now there is times where i lose lucid dreams and come back to different ones during the night but its not my choice its just happens. I will try this and see what happens. Might not be another few days though sometimes i forget to try things but i did remember to look into a mirror last night so i know its possible. I wouldnt worry about loosing the vivid and realness of the dreams you have just start looking forword to that one night where your dreaming and you think to your self holy shit i can do whatever i want and nothing matters im really sleeping. You will probably automatically start doing things you want but the wrong way. This will cause you to wake up. Well good luck and dont try anything new just learn to be more aware of whats happening all the time whether your awake or not. Sounds like your on the right track.

I dont think becomeing lucid will bore things....My dreams become lucid in a situation I did'nt try to construct, and I can change things for awhile, but then wind up falling back into the dream world where I am unaware....Plus my lucid dreams are still far from reality, and even though I'm aware I'm dreaming I'm still not 100% there like wakeing life, but that's just me

breathing is an unconsious motor action sure we can focus on it but when we dont and are busy doing something else we still breath because the medulla (sp) the part near the top of the spinal column keeps it going.

Cetaceans (whales dolphins) on the other hand are consious breathers it requires them to focus on it, so sleep for them is weird, they shut off part of their brain and kind of lay in the water at the surface. All mammals dream, I would expect dolphins to probably enter a lucid dream state as they are consious and partially asleep at the same time.

Wow, that's super interesting. I never thought if animals have lucid dreams. I would think it would take self-awareness for dream-awareness.
