I don't know, but there's a method where you can lose an hour or 2 of sleep every night for a week (by waking up early, say at 6am), and then finally you sleep in. What this does, is it makes you mentally alert at the time you wake up (6am), but when you finally sleep in, your mind becomes mentally alert-- but you're still sleeping. So for the remaining hour's you're asleep (6am-whenever), your mind is awake, but your body is still asleep. So you become lucid.
Sorry if that was hard to understand, I can't articulate at all tonight.
I c.
Is there, tho, a recommend amount of sleep for the best possibility of lucid dreams to occur?
Most REM sleep (read: dreaming periods) occurs in the last few hours of sleep. If you can't get a full 8 hours or more, the next best thing would be taking an afternoon nap and attempting to LD then.
I usually go to bed around 12am and if i wake up from a dream its always around 6 to 8 am. Try finding out what time u go into rem check your clock when u get woken up in a dream.
Usually you're going to want 7-8 hours of sleep. When you go to sleep doesn't really matter as far as I know, as long as you get the sleep in. If you fall asleep at, say, 1:30am, set an alarm for 6am. Try WILDing them with WBTB. Alternitavely you could practice the DILD method - you wouldn't need to get up in the middle of the night with this. Good luck with your dreaming in the future. :)
Agreed with what everyone else here said. 8 hours is optimal, as it is healthier and you can throw in a WBTB if you want. However, that is not always possible. For example, as a college student, my sleep schedule is almost never consistent. One day I may have to stay up until like 4am doing work and waking up only a few hours later, others day I manage to get in too much sleep- 12 hours! hahaha. In my case, I almost never do a WBTB unless I know for sure I'll get at least 8 hours, but I always try things like MILD, DILD, DEILD and WILD if I just so happen to wake up in the middle of the night.
