So last night I attempted CAN WILD

Something sort of peculiar happened, just want your take on it.

I went to bed at about 10:30, normally wake up at 6 AM, so I set the alarm on that computer program for 5 AM. Well, I woke up randomly, thought to myself "...Did the alarm go off?", sat still, and didn't notice anything happening so I checked the time and it was 4:30.

"Crap", I thought. I decided to attempt to just go back to sleep and have the clock wake me up, but I didn't go back to sleep.

Then I wrote down the dream I had in my journal and attempted a WBTB. At about 5:00 or so, I went back to bed and just couldn't sleep...Nothing happened.

Is this possibly just some freak occurrence that happens every now and then where you wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep, or does it possibly have to do with me attempting to attain lucidity? I have never once had a lucid dream, and I was really hoping for one last night, but waking up at 4:30 just completely killed it...I'll totally try again tonight, but I hope it's not some sign that I can't do this method or something.

Yeah sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night I can't go back to sleep cause I'm trying to WILD or something. That's why I always go with DILD or MILD combined with WBTB.

Also I know what you mean, I hate when you wake up like 10 or 20 minutes before your alarm goes off, that just ruins it..
