I voted for paperdoll, mainly because she was the first to befriend me in this forum, and EVERYONE has to admit, she has grown ALOT since the early beginnings. And thus, she has worked very hard at being kind and courtious lately. I've noticed. And so, thats where my vote went.
Btw, Thankyou to all who voted for me, I didn't expect to get past one or two
this is an imperfect system, and there's nothing i can do about it. :whyme: regardless, # of posts is not a factor one should use when determining merit. so far Rocky has spent 4 hours and 45 minutes online as a registered user. we don't know how long he has been a guest on the site; i've seen quite a few posts from people that say they've been here for quite a while and have only just registered. finally, i have included a link to everyone's profile, which includes a link to all the posts by you guys, which further provides opportunity for new people to get to know you.Quote:

I'm having a hard time voting, as you did Seeker, i mean, who to vote for? i would want to be the global mod, but i think someone else deserves it, and i guess i would rather be a smaller mod for a particular forum...AHHHHH this is so hard, so i think i will vote for...my cool old grandpa :fro:

Paperdoll does bring up a serious point.
I don't think anyone WOULD cheat, but Icedawg, you might want to keep a watch on the IP addresses of anyone that registers while the voting is going on.
If I understand right, polls log the SID of anyone voting(I think), this keeps people from voting, deleting any local cookies, and voting again
But, someone could create a lot of new users and vote. The only way to detect this is to keep a close watch on the IPs.
But hey, we are all upstanding moral people here, I don't expect there to be a problem!

regardless, i installed a mod quite sometime ago that goes one further step and actually records all duplicate accounts into a table. it's a little tricky determining whether this truly reveals one using multiple accounts though, because people sometimes use the same computer.
anyway, as for how long this poll is going to run...i don't know. i'm a little curious as to how many people we can get to vote.

And about the newbie thing, I think they can vote if they want to, Because they still are a part of this forum, and might become a big part in the future the forum, who knows! and, when foreigners become citizens, there isn't a timer until they "Know the country well enough to vote" They can vote immediately, because their part of the country. besides, it doesn't matter all that much since the scales are tipped hugely in Seekers favors right now.

Personally I think its his job, The newbie welcomer, since all the newbies are welcomed by him, they feel inclined to vote for him. Which is weird, because I have no clue as to when, and how he got that position
I voted for seeker cause he's always keeping up on me, and I've been MIA again for some time......I joined the ymca trying to get my fat ass into shape, so I have'nt been at the computer as much, and I have'nt had a lucid dream since my last post which was months ago, I dont know what's up.
I guess it's a good thing that none of the people I work with and sent here decided to register. Think of the confusion, all these people calling out from the same gateway!
I guess Icedawg is going to let this run for a while. It'll be interesting to see what this weekend brings!

I find that the more people that vote, the more my percentile goes down. which is a tiny bit depressing, I now only have 12% of the votes instead of thirteen. I dunno thats just my Shpeil(sp?)
