New to lucid dreaming.
Hello i am new to lucid dreaming and need some pointers. So far i have been using the wake back to bed technique and it works sometimes but not always. Most of the time i either don't become lucid or i become lucid and the dream fades. I have also tried to say to my self repeatedly as i fall asleep that ill lucid dream but it hasn't worked yet. What are your suggestions anyone?

Welcome to the community and the world of lucid dreaming! :D
You can start by keeping a dream journal. Every morning when you wake up, immediately write down what you've dreamed before they start to fade.
You should write down as many details as possible. This not only helps you train your ability to recall dreams, but also makes it easier for you to recognize certain dream signs.
When you are writing or reading your dream journal, you might notice recurring things, like meeting the same character in your dreams, dreams taking place on a particular setting, etc. If you notice any of these dream signs, you should try to focus on them, and next time you are dreaming and see one of those dream signs you should realize you are dreaming and become lucid.
There are many different ways to attain lucidity. You should check out the Lucid Dream Induction Techniques page for more hints and techniques.
Hope this helped. :)

I should try to wild.
Maybe ill do better with wilding. Thanks for the link.

I wouldn't put my bet on WILDing being easier. WBTB is the only method I even try anymore. I WILD by accident a lot.
First of all don't use contractions when you say that you will lucid dream. Sounds silly. I know.
If you are falling asleep, you have not slept enough for the night, OR you have not waited enough before laying back down. (in my experience). It also helps me to lay down in a different room and/or different surface. Try WBTB on the couch.
Saying the words "I will lucid dream." repeatedly isn't nearly as important as beilieving your own words when you say them.

Sleeping in a different place after your WBTB is great advice. It helps you convince yourself you are committed to the attempt. It also makes you sleep lighter. You can feel that something is out of the ordinary, even when you are asleep.

Thanks for the tips so far its nice to see that this is an active site. Also for some reason when i recall my dreams i can remember them for weeks to come and they don't fade.

There are some things you need to learn about lucid dreaming.
-It's easy. You may come to think its hard if you fail, or from things you read on the forum. But, it's not.
-Believe in yourself -- in your ability to become lucid in your dreams. Doubt, or un-certainty will only make it worse.
-Don't try to hard -- Don't stress over lucid dreaming. It will come with time.
Read this -------> http://www.dreamviews.com/f12/possib...61/index3.html <------- There is great advice on pages 3, 4, and 5.
-Good luck!

Learn how to stabilize the dream so that you can remain lucid for longer. There are many places on this site that have that information, so I won't waste time going over it again, but if WBTB works for you sometimes, take advantage of those times.
