I have just started trying to LD a week ago and I am already doing RC's in my dreams but everytime I realize that I am in a dream I instantly wake up.
Is there any tricks or tips that can help me stay lucid?

Hi, welcome to Dreamviews! :)
Lots of people who just start out with LDing wake up in their first few goes. It will get better as you have more; you won't become so overly excited. In the meantime, all I can really suggest it to ground yourself in the dream as much as possible - rub your hands, and don't think about yourself lying in bed. Don't think about waking life. Look around you and take in the scenery. It'll help keep you in the dream.
thankyou i have been keeping a dream journal and i have been remembering about two dreams a night, does that mean i am getting close to having a LD?
Remembering your dreams is very important. Imagen lucid dreaming every night but not remembering your dreams!
There is no point on trying to lucid dream without a good dream recall.
(:
Basically what Puffin said. Also when you do become lucid just relax. Feel good that you accomplished becoming lucid. But don't try and get too lucid. Just relax and then when you are calm, carry out your buisness.
ok thanks alot :shadewink:
No problem!
If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
I know what you mean, I found the biggest help in getting past it is by starting to practice spinning around on the spot like you did when you were a kid trying to get dizzy. Its been my most successful method of staying at the right level
I've adapted MILD to help me with this. Along with your usual 'I will become lucid', blah blah type mantras, include something along the lines of 'I will remain calm when I become lucid'. Try meditation as well. Anything that relaxes you and familiarizes you with that state of mind will help you out, so meditation would be a great thing for you to try here.
