Two questions about vivid memory and the REM phase
I was wondering about two questions.
1. About the vividness in a Dream/LD. Could it be possible that the vividness during a D/LD is effected by the transition to waking life?
I mean that if there is low vividness that maybe thats because the dream reacall is poor. But in that case then the mind had to be a time machine cause if one experienced low vividness, that was an effect of the memory upon awakening that hadnt happend yet. Its a strange thougte but i thougt about it when i heard that every action we think and do have some milliseconds lag, but the brain tricks us into believing that the action is instant. Like if we touch fire, the signal has to be sent to the brain and then back to then hand which takes time, but the brain let us have the feeling that what we feel is instant. So maybe the same can apply for the memory of a D/LD cause thats really all we have after the experience. Just a thought.
2. Can the REM phase be pronlonged? An usual sleep cycle last about 90 minutes, and the more awake you are the longer the REM phase is. But can the REM last longer, even longer than 90 minutes if it is trained on? I mean since the brain is as active during REM that during waking life, maybe all one got to train is the controll over SP?
