SP trouble again
Hey,
Last night I intended to have a lucid dream just by staying conscious until I went into REM sleep but I kinda failed at SP. I had complete consciousness for 70 minutes, and that's the last time I looked at the clock. I knew I was entering REM because I started getting the pins and needles feeling of SP, I also had a very loud ringing in my ear but it wasn't like the ringing you can hear all the time. It was less high pitch and a lot louder, it wasn't in my ears it was in my head. I just let it go on for about 2 minutes without doing anything and I knew if I let it go much longer I probably would get some signs of entering the dream world like HH or HI. Anyway I couldn't stand it any longer it was driving me crazy and I was getting really paranoid, I kept telling myself that it's all in my head just like I practiced before but it didn't help. So I ended up waking up and doing a RC just to make sure I didn't have an RC.... I wasn't dreaming but I could still feel the effects of SP like muscle movement etc.
So I was wondering does anyone have any specific techniques in getting through this, I feel this is my last step in achieving lucid dreams. Like is there anyway to put yourself into a trance or anything else that would help :X I don't even have any ideas on where to start. Thanks for any help :)

Sounds like you either weren't tired enough or weren't in a REM cycle.
70 minutes is too long. While your resolve is admirable If you're waiting longer than 30 minutes chances are it isn't going to happen. Be sure you're doing a WBTB (waking up in the middle of the night). If you're not, a lucid dream is nearly impossible. REM cycles get longer as you sleep and dreaming becomes easier later in the night.

It was 4 in the morning so I was fairly tired but not too tired. I basically just tried a MILD I also had a sound to do a CANWILD setup but it didn't wake me : () I've done a lot of WBTB and none ever work :(
I'm just waiting patiently for a lucid, but just needed a tip about SP so I don't freak out in it.

SP should be more of a natural process. It can certainly feel extreme but the idea is that you should be asleep enough that you take is passively. Try reducing the time you stay awake during your WBTB or just try to get more experience in SP.
