I failed - AGAIN!
Here is my biggest problem, im not used to WBTB, never tried it, im more of a stay up all night kind of guy, last night i tried SP did not succed but saw blue colors flashing infront of my closed eyes and then i freaked out, 4 minutes ago i tried SP again and failed with less success then before, laying in bed and heart getting heavy and then i stopped because i reminded myself that im a new beginner not a pro i have never tried WBTB, i just want to start my lucid dreaming carreer, this sucks so much...

I attempted to do a WBTB and after a few night of failures I decided, instead of trying to just jump into a dream, that i should tell my body what to do in a dream. So i Woke up after about 5 1/2 hours of sleeping and i went take a sip of water and went to the bathroom. Than i layed back down and repeated, "I will do a reality check." And it turns out, i had my first lucid dream by DILD! You should try this as it helped me achieve my first lucid dream. Happy Dreaming :)

Don't get too fed up it just takes time, especially if you don't have a lot of free time to read up about it and if you have to wake up early every morning. I've never had a LD but I'm not giving up, passively visting this forum every day and reading up, getting tips, helping others that are brand new helps a lot. Hopefully it will well... just happen. I'm not trying to force it anymore.

Ive also never been able to WILD, buy I'm sure I just need more practice. Just don't stop trying, I'm sure you will manage, and even if you don't think you're a WBTB kind of guy, you should try it, because that seems to be what works best with everyone.
The closest I've been to a WILD is from a WBTB, I believe I entered Sleep paralysis because I saw pairs of eyes EVERYWHERE, and suddenly it became really frightening and I began seeing huge sets of devilish teeth eating the eyes, while skulls and cross bones, and images of demons and the devil started appearing everywhere. I got a bit too freaked and snapped myself out of it though. As frightening as that was, I was just happy that I was getting closer to WILDing haha.
So my point is, try WBTB, if you don't succeed, don't give up, you may just need a new method.

How vivid are the blue colors you see? The colors I see are very feint and I'm not sure if I'm actually in SP or not

Same here Crispizzle, same here.
I am trying too hard and it's causing me sleep problems because of a huge exitement from now on i wont try WILD for a bit of time and just focuse on sleeping when im tired and writing in my dream journal the Lucid Dreams will come eventually and when they do THEN i'll take up the harder WILD part.

That's pretty much what I'm doing right now. I don't try to WILD anymore really, I figure I should get better at recall. I can usually remember 1 dream, but sometimes more a night. I'm trying to remember like 4 or 5.
