Gaming and dreams
I am just wondering if anyone here noticed an increase in LDing if you play video games? I know for my own personal experience that mine have definately increased over the years since i began playing MMORPGs.
Not sure if it is the eye movement or the fact you are immersed in a fantasy world that you are aware of which in turns can assist in recognizing it when you dream. :D
Thoughts/opinions?? :?:
Warm regards
Robyn

I don’t have an opinion as such but I read an article about this 4 months ago on the BBC website.
The women who wrote the article seemed really enthusiastic about playing computer games, she said that it helped to develop the imagination.
It was an interesting article.
The idea of entering a fantasy world through computer games would suggest an increase in dream vividness.
A member i know could answer this question is nesgirl, she plays computer games in her lucid dreams.

I also love MMORPGs and have been playing most of the ones that came out since the first Everquest. I know its kinda dorky but most of the things I want to do in an LD come front these games (slashing through armies of orcs). I still play them and a lot of other games like Halo but I havn't found that they help my LDs. Ive played games longer than I've known abuot LDs but now that I try to have them and keep a dream journal and stuff its still really hard. I have only had 2 lucid experiences and they both lasted for about a mintue. Im still hopefull =).
P.S. ... do u play Guild Wars? If you don't, get it.

I've played EQ (still have active acct somewhere) Shadowbane, Lineage2, City of Heros, EQ2(bleh so disappointed w/ that one) DAoC (which i still love) and yes i have GW (alpha tested it initially and it is a very very good game).
Personally i can see the increase in my LDing since i've begun playing actively back in '99.
I suppose it all depends on the individual. :D

OH yeah, definitely.
There are tons of threads on this FYI.
Typically, super smash brothers melee, and Halo appear the most in my dreams.

oh my.. my youngest LOVEs super smash brothers..

I also have been a avid gamer pretty much all my life, played most of the good MMORPG's ...AO,AC2,EQ,SWG, and still playing World of Warcraft right now ..and loving it.
I am new to Lucid Dreaming, and am anticipating my first one, cant wait, anyways good to hear that my gaming might help me in this endeavour =).
My imagination is limitless.

my lucid dreams dont increase because of video games, but they definitly have an influence over my normal dreams. I used to have a lot of dreams about fighting others, doing the RPG thing, saving the world, or just going on adventures. I admit...they were pretty fun..i wish i had them more often, but i'm so busy that i have no time for video games anymore

I think part of the reason the games assist my LDing is because before i fall asleep at night I generally 'tell' myself a story of sorts and because of the games i've played my imagination tends to know NO bounds :D
My husband on many occassions has freaked out at some of my dreams.. (i think he think's i'm insane  )
oh well.. keeps my dream life interesting that is for sure

Well, I guess that my constant VG playing could have something to do w/this. Lately, I have been having LDs about playing Fire Emblem (the Sacred Stones), b/c I am so excited for it to be released! :D

I often find myself playing counter-strike in my dreams. It's strange, because I'm both inside the game and feeling the mouse and keyboard in my hands while walking with my feet.
It's a strange feeling, and I often wake up all sweaty after these "both inside and outside" the game dreams.

this morning I dreamed I was Ecco the Dolphin Defender of the Future.
