THC Lucid
Recently, an idea popped into my mind. THC, found in marijuana, tends to make your mind "flow"; ideas, questions, philosophies, all run around in your mind during a high. So, here's my question: can weed maybe boost the chances of a lucid dream? I mean, maybe with your mind being so active, it can say, "Hey, this seems like a dream, doesn't it?". Just a thought.

Ya, it can make you more creative while you are high. But this could only be used to come up with a good lucid dream to have not to actually have one. Maryjane is often prescribed to people with sleep disorders to take away dreams and such, so no it wont help you actually have a lucid dream no matter what the people tell you here. And if you do get a lucid if you smoke right before bed it's just lucky, and if you get one in the morning after it's from REM rebound which works quite well.

Wow, I didn't know it helped with sleep disorders. Thank you for clearing that up. Now, what is an REM rebound?
-
REM rebound is when you deprive yourself of sleep, say you lose around 5-6 hours of sleep or more. The REM Rebound part is when you get a whole lot of sleep just after losing a lot of sleep, resulting in longer REM periods. If that makes sense.
Basically, you lose sleep for the first 1-2 days, then you sleep for like 12-14 hours on the following day which leads to longer REM periods.
And for the THC part, most people find that weed makes your dream recall bad. For me it does. Even if you did have a wonderful lucid, maybe even a lucid "high", you probably wouldn't remember it unless you did a WBTB in the morning, which would also probably be very lucky.

It is not really recommended to improve your dreams. There are other drugs that can either give you vivid dreams, increase your chances of becoming lucid, or both. AChE inhibitors are popular.

Wow learn something new every day. Its better to just practice it then take some drug because you can do it all the time with practice with drugs you can't. Plus there is no need for it anyways.

I've found that THC deprives me of dream recall, and thus the ability to go lucid. Though, the idea of being lucid and high at the same time sounds amazing.
I wonder if it would be possible to, once you become lucid, convince yourself/your subconscious/whatever that you're high and thus experience the effects of THC while you're lucid. Anyone try this out yet? I know it works with psychedelics (go through the motions of what you do in order to achieve the effect IRL, or conjure them up in a dream and use them) and causes your dream vision (I guess that's what you'd call it?) to behave in the same manner that a psychedelic will.
-
you guys just gave me a new dream goal... smoke weed while i'm lucid lol
-
Haha a lucid high would be pretty amazing. I believe I'll try that REM rebound this summer. Well, while we're on the topic, have any of you tried drugs that helped with your lucidity?
-
I haven't tried any. Anything I've used has pretty much destroyed dream recall entirely. Though, I have heard of some kinds of herbs used to help with meditation (improves concentration), so that might be extremely helpful for a WBTB--wake up, smoke it, and as your concentration begins to sharpen, you go back to bed, which would (in theory) improve your concentration and hopefully vividness in dreams, and thus make it easier to become lucid...Just a thought though, no proof whatsoever. :P
I do recall hearing of some other plants that either improve dream recall or increase the vividness of dreams...can't recall the names though.
