My friend says that if he reads something over and over again before he falls asleep his mind will remember the picture, and he is able to study for school in his dream, and sometimes remember it. Anyone else able to do this, or is he making it up?

I once read an open packet my mom had on her dresser in a dream, then I read it in real time, & it was the exact same. Sometimes you can read or study something, & have it appear in your dream, too. I think that is called Deja Vu.....I am not sure though.
This has been touched before and im pretty sure we ended with a "It is certainly do-able, but don't rely on it very much"
sure, you can use LDs for studying and practicing things. you mean...non-lucid dreams? I don't know about that, it would be much easier to just use LDs. and yes you can.
You should look into "Photo-reading" to understand how this can work.
Dreams recall information from the day. That is one of the most important functions of dreams.
It recalls far more than information from the day. Eg. I did not play Dungeon Keeper the night before I dreamt of a fat cartoon DK wanting to attack me :PQuote:

Not only can it drag up accurate memories from the day before and to the date of birth so to say, but it can also imagine things on its own. Building together pieces that never have been available before. The possibilities are infinite! :)
