      Dream Breathing

      Hey everyone,
I recall in the book that Stephen LaBerge wrote "Exploring the world of lucid dreaming" that he states that breathing in a dream generally translates to what you are acctually breathing while you are asleep.
Does that mean that if you hold your breath in a dream, you wont be inclined to let out your breath because its a dream and therefore stop breathing while you are asleep?

Good question, I believe that eventually you'll have t continue breathing because its impossible to hold your breath forever.

But wouldnt the fact that you are dreaming make you think that it wouldnt matter?

I think that holding your breath would cause you to wake up, if you hold it long enough. I don't know if it applies to everybody, but from what i've experienced, any drastic changes in breathing causes me to wake up, whether it be holding my breath or hyperventilating.
