Sub-Conscious trying to hide recurring DCs?

Basically I am having some trouble attaining lucidity. I am using quite few different techniques atm. I am practicing RCs, ADA and am keeping my dream journal every day while repeating mantras before I go to sleep and upon waking up I am attempting to either DEILD or WILD with WBTB.

Anyway, last night I drank some apple juice and took some 5-HTP before sleeping to make my dreams a little more vivid. I only remembered 2 dreams this morning but the second was extremely long, vivid and intense. At one part I came to a cinema entrance (which I vaguely remember going to before). I was very thirsty and so went to the counter where you order drinks. I sat down like it was a bar but I had no money. There was a guy dressed all in black next to me so I asked him for some money for a drink. He put up a fight and then halfway me trying to convince him I remember saying 'Haven't I seen you before?' - I think he has been there in previous dreams and I think I almost realised I was dreaming (I became suspicious). At this point the look of annoyance came off his face and he looked worried and angry. He walked off at a very fast pace, trying to lose himself in the crowd. When I caught up with him he told me to go somewhere and the dream continued as normal.

I just thought this was really strange. Is it possible that my sub-conscious realised I was about to work out I was dreaming from this guy and made him run off and point me in another direction or was it just how my dream worked out?
