Using Dreams to Affect Waking Life Character?

I recently had a dream that disturbed me. It wasn't necessarily scary or depressing, it was more of just weird and confusing. Anyways, what I noticed was that the whole day I had negative thoughts and I was just in a bad mood.

The next night, I had a dream that brought back some memories of an old friend. The whole day I felt happy, energized, and positive.

Anyways, to my point:

I know that dreams can make me feel emotional in waking life: happy, sad, energetic, depressed, confused, etc.

But I have been wondering. Do you think it's possible to change your character through the use of lucid dreams? For example, I want to be a more driven person. I have little will power at the moment and feel like I could be doing a lot better than I am. I want to figure out if I can change this by using lucid dreams

Has anyone experimented with trying to change their waking life personality/character traits with lucid dreaming? If so, how did you do this?

I myself believe it's possible, I just can't think of ways I would go about doing it. If anyone has comments, opinions, or advice, please feel free.

I, for one, do agree with you. My mood is affected very much by my dreams. I do think it would be possible to change your character, but more like as in the dream giving you different viewpoints.
