Dream-seconds VS Earth-seconds

Heya!
I am wondering... Since i've never really had a LD before; how does time in the dream compare to time in reality? Like for example does one second in REM sleep count as the feeling of one second in the dream? Also, if you are lucid; can you MAKE the dream last longer? Is it possible to walk a great desert for several weeks or to fly to different planets each "day" within a dream? I mean, can you have REALLY long dreams where you almost live there? LOL i know it sounds crazy but it would be so cool to take some vacation in your dream-scape during just a single night :p

I think dreams feel different each time, I've had a dream that felt WAY longer than an hour, maybe 2 hours! But increaseing the time yourself might be impossible. Good question.

I haven't experienced it myself but I do believe it's possible. There's a thread on this forum about how to extend lucid dreams to hours long, I was just looking for it but couldn't find it in any search. What I remember from it was that you can make the dream seem hours long without extending the REM period. Anybody else know?

I've had dreams before that took place over several days. There were a lot of skips in time in it so I don't think it was actually that long but it was at least a few hours. My lucid dreams, though, I still can't get to last over a couple of minutes. If you could keep a dream stable for hours I don't see why you couldn't stay for that long. Sounds amazing, actually...

Try rubbing your hands, this seems to work! Also try spinning around like a young child :)

this is definitely an interesting concept. take the movie inception for instance. each layer of dreaming you go into theres more time for you. but, thats fiction.

ive been told by a few people that 5 minutes in the real world is 5 hours in a dream, however, you never fully remember dreams, so you may not agree. im not sure if this is true, but it sounds decently reasonable.

however, lucid dreaming is different, since theyre hard to keep stable. ive read alot of the topics here in preparation, but ive never had one, but according to all the other peeps here they are hard to keep stable. but, say there was someone who could keep their lucid dreams stable for as long as they liked. would they be able to live more time in their dream world than in the real one? this is truly an awesome subject, yo

I find this interresting too, i saw Inception yesterday for the third time, epic movie! What if there is a place like limbo where you could actually build your own world and even live there :p I've read about several users here, especially in the perception of time thread where one has been experiencing a dream for like a year where it only really was during a nap lol.

Imagine if you could enter your dream, and while lucid you could stay there and just chill and do awesome things for maybe a week in dreamtime. Later maybe next week in earth time you return to that place and continue building your own realm. Now that would be epic :O

I would live my whole life in the dream world if it was possible and occasionally visit the waking life like a holiday every year lol! :banana:
