Lucid dream club with my friends

well ive talked to my friends about lucid dreaming and theyre really interested
      \
we were thinking about a lucid dream club thing like at night
will put three matresses next to each other and go to sleep have an alarm for 3 and do a WILD
do you think its possible that we could all share a dream this way?

First you have to ask yourself is it shared dreaming possible at all. No ones going to be able to answer this for you. Go ahead and give it a try.

To get 3 people to lucid dream at the same time would be hard enough itself. Sounds like someone just watched Inception..

I suggest that if you try to do this:

Your group should decide whose dream they will enter
The chosen person should say aloud to the group that the members of the group can enter their world
The group must then respond with "we will enter your dream world"
Also the group as a whole should state how they will met each other at (some place that is familiar to entire group, like a near by neighborhood park)

Note: These are just suggestions, I don't know if what you suggest is even possible.

Can I just say this? If that is your dog it is adorable. Anyway I don't really believe in shared dreaming however I've always wanted my friends to get into lucid dreaming.

Anoter suggestion for if you try it. Have everyone think of a password but don't tell the others what it is. When you meet in the dream say your password and remember what theirs is when you wake up. That way if you do share a dream you have a way of confirming it. Don't choose a number for the password because it is hard to reember. Instead choose a word that has a specific meaning and can only be interpreted one way. Like the name of a country or the title of a video game.

I'm no expert, but I believe that it can even come easier that way - this is someone you know really well, have strong connection and you SEE the logic behind it, because you're actually doing it at the same time, together, even close to each other. I think all of that may help.

If shared dreaming is possible, it's not going to matter where your physical bodies are when falling asleep. Sharing a bed ≠ sharing a dream. In theory, the dream world is not bound by laws of physics like waking reality.

Evolventity, you're absolutely right. Although what I managed to realize from my experience with lucid dreaming is that in every single aspect of it (shared dreaming included) belief and disbelief are two main things - one leading to success, other to failure. So, in my opinion, even though shared dreaming most probably doesn't work the way OP suggests, all of this things may work towards belief (success), simply because they fit usual logic that we are used to.

Also, if time is irrelevant, but sleeping at the same time may help, the same goes for location - being close to each other, feeling one others energy may help as well. Sure enough, that's all bare theory, but it's mostly all that we have for lucid dreaming in general.

i think you should all learn to have lucid dreams in the first place and get the basics down first. then, once you have a firm understanding and awareness of what dreaming is like, it will be easier to contact and interact with one of your friends.

cool idea though. i say go for it!

This sounds like a cool idea. You could all try to have the same dream, then compare notes to see how similar your dreams were. There is nothing magic about it. You would just all be dreaming about each other.

A very cool idea indeed I would call a dream in which the other two were present in, and lucid ofcourse, a success. Sure it might not have happened for "real," but the experience itself is, isn't it? Good luck!

I remember reading some stuff from the early days of the Monroe Institute. Those guys would all OBE together, and talk about what they were experience as they were experiencing it. It was pretty cool when they would start to sync up and feed off each other. I need to learn how to dream lightly enough to be able to still hear and speak. Can you imagine how awesome that would be?
