My school semester started again recently and since week 1 of school, i haven't had any lucid dreams. I suspect the reason i haven't had any lucids lately is cause i'm just too mentally/physically tired.
Throughout the week i get about 7.5-8.5 hours of sleep (my preferred time is 10 hours) and i was wondering if I could 'catch up' on sleep during an afternoon nap.
I think you can. At least that's what I do. I sleep for about 6 hours, then go to classes and then sleep for a couple of more hours in the afternoon if I have time. Lucids also come very easy in the afternoon, from my experience.
I've read (a lot) that morning naps are great for lucidity... apparently you're still able to go right into REM then. Not sure if the same is true in the afternoon. Plus it might make it harder to get to sleep that night... IDK.
School screws with my recall too, If you can, Sleep in the afternoon. As mischeifManaged suggested. :P
Like Darkmatters said, it's better to have a nap in the morning since you won't have fully broken your REM cycle yet. You'll have a longer REM period leading to longer dreams.
