Hey everyone, just wondering how many people here have those dreams in which you are "awake" with your eyes closed, but you are dreaming. I have them all the time, though they aren't nearly as vivid as regular dreams.

Hey everyone, just wondering how many people here have those dreams in which you are "awake" with your eyes closed, but you are dreaming. I have them all the time, though they aren't nearly as vivid as regular dreams.
You mean like... Daydreaming? I do that sometimes, but not as much anymore since school ended
No, not really like daydreaming. It's quite literally dreaming while still being awake, but laying down with your eyes closed.
You mean you're dreaming but you can feel your real body?
I do think that is daydreaming as well
I get them sometimes when I'm very relaxed; I can still feel my body but I'm not paying much attention to it. It's as if I'm watching a movie behind my eyelids in my mind's eye, but I can't quite pinpoint exactly what I'm watching, even though I have an idea. If I focus too hard on the "dream", I wake out of it. These dreams are not incubated by me on purpose, unlike daydreams.
Yeah puffin's got it. You're asleep but you feel your body and you react to itches and stuff. You kinda go in and out of it. It's like what happens right before you actually fall into a dream, only you're stuck in the middle, you know?
I wouldn't say stuck, but yep, it's definitely the in-between state for wakefulness and dreaming. A product of heightened self- and physical awareness, perhaps?
Perhaps. I dunno, i mean i've been STUCK in that state for hours once. Like i could wake up, but i couldn't get into a dream. I had my main DC try and help me into the dream while both of us were in the half dream, but we couldn't get there.
My guess is that you weren't in REM; it might be similar to how one can reach SP without being in REM, but they can't actually enter a dream.
That's all I've got, though. :(
That sounds likely. I think it's pretty cool that i could see my DC tho. and interact (not too much, or i'd wake up.)
I always get them, though i always spazz and wake up lol
You mean like your leg twitches? Or you get geeked cuz you're dreaming?
Yea a random part of my body spazzes like i got shocked and i wake up like how the sneezing panda reacted

That's random. Yeah i get that too, i HATE it. Like in my half dream i trip on something and in real life i jump. Pisses me off more than anything. More than cops.
If they happen in a split second (and might also be accompanied by a falling or tripping sensation), they're called hypnic jerks. Everyone gets them once in a while, but poor sleep or an improper sleep schedule can contribute to having them more often. :)
It pisses me off when I get one. :P
LOL I know, I just saw that! I was like WTF!!??!!
And cops do suck.
Of course i'd call the cops, make them actually earn their money that they get with our taxes, instead of wasting their fucking time on giving people $200 5-over speeding tickets or a $100 ticket for not changing your fucking adress on your ID.
Damn straight i'd call them and i'd expect excellent fucking service.
Well said!
