Re-emergence
Well... I'm back after about a half a year break from lucid dreaming. Damn... its so hard trying to get back into it, especially since I don't have as much enthusiasm and patience over it as I once did. I truly want to get back into it though. Any of you shared the same frustrations with taking a break and starting over again? Also, any groundbreaking lucid dreaming discoveries since I've been gone haha?

Hey and welcome back!
Breakthroughs... well, maybe this is just from my own experiences on the board, but dream signs and RCs don't cause lucidity as much as people initially thought; deep observation and skepticism is becoming a more popular practice than simply overloading on routine RCs. Lots of people, including myself, have noticed that they're more of a confirmation that you're dreaming. RCs alone won't cause lucidity, and you don't even need to practice them to become aware in a dream (although you probably should, just so you can tell if you're asleep or not!). There's a new lucid dreaming FAQ page, too. It actually just came out yesterday; you can read about it in the announcements on the home page. :)
I've taken a few short breaks but nothing more than a few days; it's definitely hard to start back up again but don't give up!

The thing that sparked it up for me, was having a random lucid dream. I was horribly suicidal and really stopped caring about DV, and LDing for 3 months, i essentially forgot about it. Then started doing random RCs when i started feeling better, and have an LD, in late January and have been back since then, and have had many LDs since that. Try to stay determined to get back into it, and you will hit a breakthrough and be like "OMG WOO LUCID DREAM YA WOO :woohoo:"
